No. 2 Noble Tess

J: Zac Wadick (58kg) T: Brad Widdup

Noble Tess is competing over 1800m for the first time.

The daughter of Lonhro is third-up after resuming at Kembla Grange last month, settling back in the run and struggling to make up ground from a wide position down the straight.

A similar story unfolded over the mile second-up, but she does look ready to peak now with fitness on her side in what is no doubt a much easier contest.

Bathurst: Race 5 (3:25pm)

No. 4 Not Written Off

J: Reece Jones (57kg) T: Cameron Crockett

Not Written Off boasts a superior second-up record despite the fact she hasn’t won in just over a year.

Cameron Crockett’s mare was always wide fresh at Moree over shorter, but she has raced well over these longer spring trips during her career – notably running second at Armidale over 1100m this time last year.

Drawn well in an easier assignment, she’ll prove tough to hold out in the run home.

Bathurst: Race 6 (4:00pm)

No. 11 Exotic Dancer

J: Deanne Panya (55kg) T: Gary Portelli

Exotic Dancer could put this field away quite easily if she produces her best.

The daughter of Russian Revolution stamped herself as one to watch on debut in Canberra back in July, storming clear over her final few strides along the rail to win with real authority.

She was far from disgraced behind a smart horse second-up over further at Kembla Grange and is another one that should find this return to country level more than suitable.

Bathurst: Race 7 (4:34pm)

Win Market Mover

No. 1 Too Much Caviar

J: Adam Hyeronimus (62kg) T: G Waterhouse & A Bott

Too Much Caviar was simply too good for them at Rosehill last start, letting down with an electric turn of foot to grab the lead at the 200m mark and really punch clear.

That’s the kind of confidence-boosting win he can build on, and although drawn awkwardly on this occasion, a repeat dose of that late speed would see him difficult to hold out over further.

Another dry track is the key to his chances and with plenty of upside still, I think he’s the one to beat.
