Sandown Park: Race 1 (6:08pm AEST)
No. 4 My Hummingbird

My Hummingbird was a well beaten fourth at Wentworth Park on debut before falling in her second start.

She was then transferred to Paul Bartolo’s kennel and the move paid off in a big way with the Barcia Bale bitch producing an outstanding performance over this course and distance in her first Victorian start.

A squeeze shortly after leaving box 3 didn’t faze her as she hugged the rail on the first turn before dashing clear in the second half of the race to win in a slick 29.67 seconds.

A repeat of that will see her hard to beat.

Sandown Park: Race 4 (7:13pm AEST)
No. 2 Wild Cash

Wild Cash has been racing in great form in stronger races so will appreciate the drop in class.

The son of My Redeemer has been building to a win and was last seen finishing second to the Group 2 placed Ethanol Water over 600m at The Meadows.

He regularly runs in the low 42 seconds for this course and distance which may prove too quick for his rivals.

Box 2 should see him get on the arm early and go all the way.

Sandown Park: Race 5 (7:34pm AEST)
No. 1 Vista Argon

Vista Argon looks well placed in this 1-3 wins race over 595m after competing in stronger races recently.

The Thomas Dailly-trained dog railed beautifully two starts back to win narrowly over this course in distance in 34.28 seconds.

He tried hard last start when running home strongly to finish second by a length.

This is his first start from box 1 but he loves to hug the rail so he should enjoy a great run.

Sandown Park: Race 8 (8:43pm AEST)
No. 2 Smooth Plane

This is a cracking FFA with several chances but I’m going with the star chaser Smooth Plane.

The Thomas Dailly-trained dog was excellent in the Group 1 National Sprint Final at Angle Park last start where after stepping slowly from box 8, he motored through the field to finish an agonising half-length second.

He was outstanding the start prior when despite being three wide on the home turn, he charged home to win the Victorian National Sprint Final over this course and distance in 29.36 seconds.

He’s ideally drawn in box 2 and if he gets on the arm early then he’ll take a power of beating.
