Aquis Park is set to play host to Queensland’s major metro meeting on Saturday with the Pink Ribbon Cup taking place on the Gold Coast.
The weather is fine with the track currently rated a Good 4 and the rail in the true position across the circuit.

Race 1 - 11:58AM SKY RACING BENCHMARK 80 Handicap (1800 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 7 Yet He Moves
Fleur De Monde and Yet He Moves meet again after finishing one, two respectively at Doomben a fortnight ago.
The former had the better run in transit from the inside alley among the pair of stablemates, but I think Yet He Moves can turn the tables this time having drawn barrier two with James Orman taking over in the saddle.
The son of Adelaide was four weeks between runs last time out, leading early out of the gates and just lacking the extra dash once Fleur De Monde presented with a challenge down the outside.
Open to natural improvement on less of a turnaround, he should be even tougher to catch up on the speed this time back over 1800m.
Race 2 - 12:33PM AMALGAMATED GROUP BENCHMARK 70 Handicap (1700 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 1 Hyde
Hyde presents fitter third-up for Annabel and Robert Neasham.
This smart five-year-old by Snitzel hasn’t won in just over a year, but does present a strong case after running on nicely from midfield for third at Doomben last time out over the mile.
I thought he was doing his best through the line that day, and probably could have won if he settled early in the run.
Drawn well, in light with the 3kg claim, and most importantly, unbeaten in two starts over 1700m, this boy ticks a few important boxes.
Race 3 - 1:08PM K2 LAW BENCHMARK 75 Handicap (2200 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 7 I Am The Empire
I Am The Empire is looking to build on a pair of recent placings.
The Neasham-trained son of Camelot plugged away only fairly at Rosehill two weeks ago over shorter, shifting away from the fence at the 300m mark to run on for third behind the talented Matusalem.
He hasn’t won in well over a year, but is likely to find this assignment slightly easier journeying up north with a couple of wins to his name over 2200m.
Drawn an inside gate, he should push forward and look to set the tempo.
Race 4 - 1:43PM QUINN FAMILY LAW QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap (1200 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 2 Perspiration
Perspiration is a serious danger here to local hope Mishani Lily second-up.
Nothing really went right for Ciaron Maher’s colt in the San Domenico Stakes first-up at Rosehill last month, struggling to find a round out of the turn and weakening badly around the 300m mark on his way to finishing second last.
That said, this is a much easier race in comparison, while we also saw him win his maiden by 2.5 lengths over this trip at Mornington back in April.
If he gets the right run in behind the speed, the Melbourne and Sydney form on his resume might prove superior.
Race 5 - 2:18PM ZARRAFFA'S COFFEE PINK RIBBON CUP Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 85 Handicap (1200 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 3 Powerful Peg
Powerful Peg should have her fair share of admirers first-up off a break.
Kris Lees’ mare was frustrating to follow throughout the Winter Carnival, but she could be in for a bounce-back prep following her strong trial win on the Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago by nearly four lengths.
The daughter of Rubick has typically been a trustworthy play first-up, especially over 1200m where she’s won and placed on a couple of occasions.
She’s drawn slightly awkwardly, but if she crosses and lands close to the speed, she should give a nice sight down the straight.
Race 6 - 2:53PM SIMMONS LIVINGSTONE & ASSOCIATES OPEN Handicap - Weights Raised 0.5kg (1400 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 9 Secret Plan
Secret Plan should measure up after competing against a handful of these same horses only two weeks ago at Doomben.
Richard Litt’s seven-year-old had a few things go wrong in transit, blowing the start and only hitting top speed when the race had basically been run.
His previous form suggests he can make amends though, notably winning over this trip at Rosehill three back, and then going on to finish second at Doomben behind Rockribbed.
He’ll need luck from out wide, but in well with the claim, he just needs to jump on time to play a part.
Race 7 - 3:28PM CRONIN MILLER LITIGATION Class 3 Plate (1200 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 4 Redford
The unbeaten Redford finally gets a crack in town after claiming his hat-trick first-up on the Sunshine Coast.
Stuart Kendrick’s promising four-year-old by Snitzel was fast into stride over further, dictating terms up on the speed where he pulled clear for an easy three-length win in the end.
This step back to Class 3 level is a big plus, especially if he can slot across early from out wide and lead.
Race 8 - 4:07PM HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY SARAH JOLLY Class 6 Handicap - Weights Raised 2kg (1000 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 16 Barassi
Barassi looks ready to win first-up.
Only lightly-raced for a six-year-old, this entire by I Am Invincible stamped himself as one to follow at the start of the year, winning his maiden at this venue by a whopping 4.5 length margin over further.
He returned briefly during the autumn to finish third at Eagle Farm in a Class 3, looking a little raw when laying in down the straight under Cejay Graham.
Back from another break this time with a handful of impressive trial wins under his belt, he looks ready to rock and roll in a thin race with next to no weight on his back.
Race 9 - 4:47PM DREAMWEAVERS BENCHMARK 78 Handicap (1400 METRES)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 3 Cranky Harry
Cranky Harry has seen good support heading into yet another winnable assignment.
Matthew Dunn’s son of Spill The Beans has won two of his last three starts, prevailing by a big margin at Randwick in July, and then going on to win the Murwillumbah Cup a few weeks ago where he led all the way along the inside.
Those earlier runs over the mile should have him rock-hard fit for this drop back to 1400m, and he only needs to handle the big rise to 62kg to go on with the job.
