Week 4 of the 2024 NFL Season is upon us and I’m not convinced that many teams have truly started the year as clear Super Bowl contenders yet.
We’ve seen a lot of clunky offense, is that to do with a lack of preseason? Who knows (editor’s note: almost certainly).
There’s plenty of football to be played this week and it’s my job to make sense of it all
It’s the last week of a full slate before the bye weeks kick in.
Here’s where I’ve landed for each game.
The Giants will be fairly confident rolling into this one.
They just embarrassed Cleveland in their own house and now they have their NFC East rivals the Cowboys who are on a two game losing streak and have not lived up to their expectations so far this year.
That being said it’s been a long time since the Giants have beaten Dallas.
The Giants are 1-13 against the Cowboys since 2017 and quite frankly I think this is the matchup Dallas need to get their season back on track.
The Cowboys are $1.42 favourites and the line is set at 5.5 points, I’m fairly confident that America’s Team will be on the right side of that line here.
Don’t get me wrong I’m absolutely loving what Malik Nabers has done so far for NY and he will be in my considerations but I can’t see them winning two in a row here.
My Bets ($11.99 Multi)
- Dallas Cowboys -5.5 @ $1.90
- Malik Nabers Over 72.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
- CeeDee Lamb 75+ Receiving Yards @ $1.55
Anytime Touchdown Tips
- Rico Dowdle Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $2.45
The Jets looked good last week and with the extended break I expect them to roll into this matchup against Denver with a full head of steam.
I’m a big fan of how they’re using their running back room so far this year.
It’s clear that Breece Hall is the guy but a bit of relief work for Braelon Allen will only be good for Breece as the season progresses.
Denver were one of the shock wins last week but I imagine they come crashing back down to earth this week.
This Jets defence will really frustrate Bo Nix and it’s starting to look like Rodgers is remembering how to throw the football again.
My Bets
- New York Jets -7.5 @ $1.90
- Breece Hall 60+ Rushing Yards
- Garret Wilson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Easily one of the games I’m looking forward to the most this weekend.
Obviously there’s plenty of bad blood between these two NFC North teams but both sides have been cooking so far to start the year
AND
There’s a chance that Jordan Love returns from the injury he suffered in Week 1.
Keep an eye on the injury report before backing any Packers players in this one.
If J. Love returns, I like Jayden Reed to have a big game here but I’ll still be rocking with the Vikings and Justin Jefferson to continue to eat with Sam Darnold.
My Bets
- Minnesota Vikings +2.5 @ $1.94
- Justin Jefferson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
- Justin Jefferson 75+ Receiving Yards
Three weeks ago I said the NFC South was an abysmal wasteland.
Boy was I wrong.
This matchup is shaping up to be a good one and while neither of these teams got it done.
They pushed the Chiefs and the Eagles (two Super Bowl calibre teams) to the very end.
Atlanta are the ever so slight favourites here and that’s the way I’m looking, plus I’m just not convinced that the Saints are any good.
My Bets
- Atlanta Falcons H2H @ $1.80
- Bijan Robinson Over 75+ Rushing Yards
- Bijan Robinson Anytime TD Scorer
Caleb Williams is officially here.
Despite not picking up a win last week and Chicago having the worst looking offensive line in football.
The rookie QB announced himself as a future star in the league last week with a 363 yard, two touchdown, two interception game.
This week the Bears are short favourites against a Rams side that is plagued with injuries and while I don’t think this Bears O-Line will show much improvement in a seven day turn around.
I think Caleb can do enough by himself to get a win here.
Stay away from the Bears run game, smash the passing game.
My Bets
- Chicago Bears -3 @ $1.90
- Caleb Williams 250+ Passing Yards
- Cole Kmet 60+ Receiving Yards
- Rome Odunze Anytime Touchdown
Andy Dalton was phenomenal last week, but I would temper your expectations against Cincy this week.
After the Bryce Young benching, Dalton came out firing and the Panthers torched the Raiders last week.
I’m not convinced that happens two weeks in a row, even if the Bengals haven’t won a game yet this season.
Burrow and the Bengals put up big numbers in a shoot out against the Commies last week and even though they weren’t on the right side of the result.
I think they start to turn their season around here.
My Bets
- Cincinnati Bengals -4.5
- Joe Burrow 275+ Passing Yards
- Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown
I rarely talk defence in these previews but this Pittsburgh D may be the best defence in the league and they’re making the Steelers a competitive team in the early stages of this season.
This week Pittsburgh have the Colts and while Anthony Richardson can make some serious highlight plays.
I expect him to get shut down big time by this Steelers team.
I don’t have much hope for Indy here.
My Bets
- Pittsburgh Steelers H2H @ $1.75
- Justin Fields Anytime Touchdown
- Najee Harris Over 60+ Rushing Yards
- Jonathan Taylor Over 60+ Rushing Yards
Philly could quite possibly be the most injured offensive unit in the league at the moment and while they are favourites here. I think I’m liking a piece of Tampa Bay.
It was a down week for Baker and the Buccs last week against Denver but I think we’ve seen enough from Tampa this year to know that they can hang with the big dogs.
The emergence of RB Bucky Irving will do nothing but make Baker Mayfield and the Buccs’ passing game easier and I think we could see this Philly Eagles team fall to 2-2.
My Bets
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers H2H @ $1.98
- Mike Evans 75+ Receiving Yards
- Bucky Irving 60+ Rushing Yards
- Saquon Barkley 75+ Rushing Yards
- Bucky Irving Anytime Touchdown
I’m really looking forward to this game.
Jayden Daniels was electric last week and this Cardinals team are really starting to find their identity.
The Commies are $2.40 underdogs and I think I lean towards them to cover the 3.5 point line.
Kyler and Daniels have aired the ball out something fierce this year and if this isn’t an offensive shootout, I’ll be thoroughly disappointed.
My Bets
- Washington Commanders +3.5 @ $1.83
- Kyler Murray 250+ Passing Yards
- Jayden Daniels 250+ Passing Yards
- Marvin Harrison Jr Anytime Touchdown
The Jags are in a big hole that I can’t imagine they will claw themselves out of in a short week this week.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags are on a big losing streak and are $3.45 underdogs to pick up a win against the Texans here.
Hard to argue honestly, the Texans were disappointing last week but I’d imagine they bounce back in a big way. The Jags copped a thrashing from Josh Allen and I think CJ Stroud rips and tears here.
My Bets
- Houston Texans -7 @ $1.90
- CJ Stroud 275+ Passing Yards
- Nico Collins 75+ Receiving Yards
- Joe Mixon Anytime Touchdown
San Fran are very short here and for good reason and the Pats did not put up much of a fight in New Jersey last Friday morning.
Despite going down last week, the 49ers proved that they might possess the best “next man up” mentality in the league.
No CMC, that’s fine we’ll feed Jordan Mason.
No Deebo or Kittle, that’s chill, we’ll turn Jauan Jennings into Randy Moss.
The 49ers should win this comfortably.
My Bets
- San Francisco 49ers 14+ @ $2.35
- Brandon Aiyuk 75+ Receiving Yards
- Jordan Mason Anytime Touchdown Scorer
My god these two teams are DOWN BAD.
Raiders, embarrassed by Carolina last week. Browns embarrassed by the Giants.
Someone has to win this game and I’m leaning towards the Browns.
The defence was the tie breaker for me in this one, Myles Garrett should cause a lot of havoc in this game.
My Bets
- Cleveland Browns H2H @ $1.98
- Amari Cooper 75+ Receiving Yards
- Amari Cooper Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Chargers are the walking wounded and the next team in line to get bent over by the Chiefs.
The Mahomes and Rashee Rice show come into LA as $1.25 favourites and I don’t see a world where this isn’t anything but Chiefs 14+.
Justin Herbert is dealing with a high ankle sprain and if he plays, won’t be able to do much.
Get on Rashee Rice for another big day.
My Bets
- Kansas City Chiefs 14+ @ $2.70
- Rashee Rice 75+ Receiving Yards
- Rashee Rice Anytime Touchdown
“Stefon Diggs is gone, Allen has no one to pass to”
Clearly it didn’t matter last week.
Allen was electric, throwing four TDs to the likes of Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid.
The Ravens have been a bit shaky to start the year and I’m starting to think this Buffalo team is the real deal.
Buffalo are the $2.15 underdogs in this game and I’m more than happy to back them to win this game.
My Bets
- Buffalo Bills H2H @ $2.15
- Dalton Kincaid 75+ Receiving Yards
- Zay Flowers 60+ Receiving Yards
- Dalton Kincaid Anytime Touchdown
Bad Game.
Bad bad bad game.
Miami have so many weapons that I love betting on but I don’t think we’ll get to see any of them utilised if Miami trot out Skylar Thompson/Tyler Huntley or Tim Boyle this week.
And the Titans are a wasteland too, Will Levis has five interceptions in three weeks.
Not very exciting there either.
You’d think Miami win this one but anything could truly happen in this one.
My Bets
- Miami Dolphins H2H @ $1.90
- De’Von Achane Anytime Touchdown
- De’Von Achane 60+ Rushing Yards
Now this game should be very good.
Seattle are undefeated so far to start the season and should really give the 2-1 Lions a run for their money here.
I’m genuinely struggling to pick a side in this one.
Normally I’d be smashing the Lions -3.5 here but I don’t know. Something about these Seahawks this year.
My Bets
- Seattle Seahawks +3.5 H2H @ $1.90
- DK Metcalf Over 75+ Receiving Yards
- David Montgomery Anytime Touchdown Scorer
