No. 8 Snow In May
Snow In May is a promising filly making just her second start for John O’Shea.
We saw this daughter of The Autumn Sun come and win impressively on debut at Wagga back in May, striding up to the leaders at the 200m mark where she went on to find something extra to draw clear by over a length.
She was quickly sent back to the paddock in time for the autumn, and looks in for a big prep following two encouraging trials leading in.
If she gets luck from the gate and can find a spot close to midfield, she’ll be difficult to hold out.

No. 8 Weeping Woman
Weeping Woman has the added advantage of race-fitness over some of her rivals.
This mare by Lonhro has been racing in fantastic order since resuming for Joe Pride last month, winning her maiden on the synthetic in Canberra first-up, before prevailing over her final few strides to go one better at Hawkesbury.
She looks suited out to 1200m now and has drawn to receive every chance from the inside gate with Regan Bayliss sticking.

No. 9 Utopian Wine
Happy to have an each-way play on Utopian Wine in an open race.
Chris Waller’s mare by Pierro doesn’t win out of turn, but she did run a nice race for third on the Kensington track a couple of weeks ago off a four-week break.
The lightly-raced four-year-old was attempting a big step up in trip out to 1800m that day, so she does have room for improvement on less of a turnaround this time.
She’ll go much better on a dry track and from a nice low gate, look for her to get right back off the speed.
Canterbury: Race 7 (4:55pm)

No. 3 Noble Conqueror
Noble Conqueror gets James McDonald on board looking to build on three straight placings.
This should be a touch easier for Chris Waller’s gelding after being beaten a nose at Rosehill last start, and while he has mixed his form over these longer trips close to the mile, he does appear ready for the rise in distance.
With a low gate at his disposal, look for him to get back in the run with the dry deck looking much more suitable after tackling rain-affected tracks recently.
