Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday, August 27

Grenoble was beaten by the smallest of margins third-up at Bathurst last month back over 1800m. 

A slow start likely cost him an extra stride or two, but he looked as though he would have won if he was afforded an extra 50m in the finish.  

It’s been a while since he’s tasted a win, but fitter, back on a firmer track, and out to his preferred trip are three ticks in the right box.  

Hulu should look to get back early from the inside gate and save her best for the finish.  

The lightly-raced mare by Showtime resumed from a lengthy spell at Muswellbrook late last month for second, finding the middle of the track down the straight where she plugged along nicely. 

She’s been given a good gap between starts and still has big scope for improvement with conditions to suit.

Life’s A Party continues to improve with racing.  

Mark Jones’ mare has found the money in both starts since resuming, overcoming a wide run at Dubbo last time out to hit the line hard for second.  

The daughter of Star Turn looks well-suited out to 1200m now and looks set to peak in her third run back carrying only 55kg.  

Invincible Red can go on with the job for Craig Martin.  

This lightly-raced five-year-old by Divine Prophet scored his second win at Moree a fortnight ago, bolting in from the inside gate to suggest he’s capable of winning bigger and better races.  

He should be plenty fit now with four runs under his belt, and providing he didn’t spend too many tickets last time out, he should be in the mix again from a nice soft gate with Ben Looker back in the irons.
