Sunshine Coast: Race 2 (1:29pm)

No. 2 March As One

J: Shania Willis (58kg) T: Damien Batters

March As One gets in well with the claim and looks ready to peak in his third run back.

Damin Batters’ five-year-old improved sharply to run third here a couple of weeks ago over 1200m, a game effort considering he was drawn the car park and forced to make up ground down the outside.

He tends to improve deeper into his prep and the step back to 1100m be ideal from a much better gate on this occasion.

Sunshine Coast: Race 3 (2:04pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Savileo

J: Kyle Wilson-Taylor (59.5kg) T: Jack Bruce

Savileo continues to race well without winning, cashing a cheque in each of his last three starts.

The gelding by Savabeel has been up for a while, but he does look close to a win after holding his own over these longer staying trips recently

Needs a touch of luck to go his way from the barrier, but after racing on rain-affected tracks of late, he might find the poly suitable with Kyle Wilson-Taylor sticking in the saddle.

Sunshine Coast: Race 5 (3:15pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Miss Miriam

J: Angela Jones (54kg) T: Jack Bruce

Miss Miriam comes back a level after tackling a shorter trip at Doomben last time out.

The mare by Divine Prophet shed the maiden tag a few runs back at Ipswich by a clear margin, and has held her form okay to return two placings in three starts since.

She’s facing a sharp rise to the mile deep into her prep, but does have plenty of fitness on her side. Progressing well and drawn to receive every chance, she rates one of the main players.

Sunshine Coast: Race 6 (3:55pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 1 Patton

J: James Orman (62kg) T: Jack Bruce

Patton looks hard to beat in the Cup coming off a last start win at Ipswich fresh from a break.

Jack Bruce’s six-year-old spent most of the autumn racing in town at Doomben at Eagle Farm and presents fitter now with a solid second-up record to his name.

This is his first look at the Sunny Coast, but with four wins over the journey and barrier five in his favour, he’ll prove very difficult to hold out over the concluding stages.
