No. 11 Kosuke

J: Jess Taylor (56.5kg) T: Gregory McFarlane

Kosuke presents fitter third-up for trainer Greg McFarlane.

The colt by The Autumn Sun has mixed his form in three starts to date, but did show improvement when running on late at Newcastle a couple of weeks ago to just miss out on a place.

He was competing off a three-week break that day, so with natural improvement to come and the blinkers on for the first time, this looks a slightly more winnable race on a firmer deck.

Taree: Race 4 (3:50pm)

Win

No. 8 No Tackle

No Tackle wasn’t beaten far when racing over the mile for the first time here a couple of weeks ago.

He was faced with a bottomless Heavy 10 that day but still finished off nicely to run third along the rail.

The son of Menari has been in work for a while, but he’s done well to return some money in each of his last four starts. Back on a firmer deck now, he’s one of the main players if he gets some luck from the gate.

Taree: Race 5 (4:25pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Supreme Command

J: Teighan Worsnop (59.5kg) T: Glen Milligan

Supreme Command has grown an extra leg since joining Greg Milligan’s stable.

The four-year-old gelding by Epaulette shed the maiden tag nicely first-up over shorter here to begin his prep, returning to the winner’s stall a fortnight ago over further where he looked a class above.

He’s clearly got a turn of foot this boy and is likely to drive forward and land just off the speed from out wide. On another wet track, he’ll be one of the hardest to hold out.

Taree: Race 6 (5:05pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 7 Monte Cruise

J: Mollie Fitzgerald (59kg) T: Noel Mayfield-Smith

Monte Cruise looks one of the better bets on the program in search of her hat-trick.

This mare by Deep Field has gone to another level over the last month or so, claiming her second win at Tuncurry earlier this month where she overcame some late traffic to win with plenty left in hand.

She’s drawn a perfect gate with apprentice Mollie Fitzgerald retaining the ride, and based on everything we’ve seen so far, she’s more than capable of winning again.
