Vino Grande is an intriguing runner making just his second start. 

We saw this boy debut nicely at Donald in May, running on late for second after being held up badly out of the turn.  

He’s since trialled up nicely ahead of his return and is likely to test his luck up front from an awkwad gate. 

Cinque Ponte has drawn a nice gate looking to improve on her impressive maiden win over 1400m at Echuca.  

The mare by Toronado was given a 10/10 steer under Jarrod Fry, saved for late where she produced a solid turn of foot to reel in the leader with a lot left to give.  

She’s only lightly-raced an untested over the mile, but if she gets a crack at them in the final stages, she might prove too strong.  

Tradework is a talented stayer that absolutely relishes racing on the synthetic.  

The son of Ready For Victory has put together two solid wins on this surface leading in, prevailing over his final few strides here a couple of weeks ago to go clear by 1.75 lengths in the end.  

He’s rock-hard fit now and gets in with 3kg off, so providing that latest effort wasn’t a gut-buster, he has to be considered one of the main chances.   

Prinzerro should find this much easier after racing in town of late.  

He’s going on close to a year since he last won, but this son of Pierro did run a nice race last start to finish midfield considering he was always wide the trip.  

This is his first look at the synthetic, but if he shoots across early from out wide and lands on speed, he’ll take catching.
