Sandown: Race 4 (7:20pm)
No. 5 After The Siren

After The Siren is an in-form two-year-old rising nicely through the grades.

The son of Fernando Bale hasn’t missed a cheque in all five starts this prep, winning nicely two back at Warragul over shorter by a length.

He was strong through the line when runner-up here in a similar event last week, and is likely to take plenty of benefit away from that performance.

Look from him up on the speed in the early stages.

Sandown: Race 6 (8:08pm)
No. 3 Mepunga Surprise

Mepunga Surprise was the beaten favourite here last week when attempting a big step up in trip to 715m.

She was placed the run prior at Geelong five days earlier and is likely better suited here drawn closer to the paint.

If she can get forward early and establish a spot on the speed, she’ll be one of the hardest to catch with fitness on her side.

Sandown: Race 8 (8:47pm)
No. 3 In The Hub

In The Hub is the class runner here despite finishing nearly seven lengths off last week.

He’s talented stayer that should be fast into stride, winning on 11 occasions at Sandown, seven of those coming over the track and distance.

His best time of 29.10 seconds if the fastest in this field, and if he gets luck in running early, he’ll be difficult to run down.

Sandown: Race 9 (9:06pm)
No. 3 Ella’s Babe

Ella’s Babe has the runs on the board to suggest she’ll be competitive in the Nationals Distance Final.

She’s always strong in these longer staying races and is a four-time winner at this venue.

Last week’s runner-up effort puts her in good stead for this, particularly with a 41.71 second track/distance PB to her name.
