UFC Fight Night this weekend will be live in the home of The UFC in Las Vegas where Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba are set to headline a card that promises fans to introduce fans to a new wave of fighters and develop some new favourites.
Nevertheless, you can find my three best bets on the entire card down below.
Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba are not the biggest names in the company, but they’re sure as hell some of the best fighters in the division.
The winner of this bout will have a case to be the new main contender for the title and I won’t complain if we see a Brazilian compete for championship gold again.
Comparing the pair, it’s pretty safe to say that Lemos has had significantly more exposure to the big fights in comparison to Jandiroba.
However, Lemos is 0-1 in Main events which could potentially play a factor in the Punters eyes before the horn.
That particular stat doesn’t concern me, in fact, it makes me more confident in Lemos’ ability – as she won’t have the main event jitters and can get on with the job.
Lemos for points is where my coin is landing.
Junyong Park and Brad Tavares might not be a co-main event of big names, but we could see a bout that may have a shot for the performance of the night bonus.
He’s a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none, even though middleweight Brad Taveres has a great set of hands along with some decent grappling, he’s lost three of his last four and the 36-year-old could soon be on the chopping block.
Whereas his opponent, Junyong Park has a respectable 7-3 record in the UFC along with seven submissions to his name, he can outlast, outwit, outplay and out grapple any opponent in his way.
For the fans wondering, Tavares has never been submitted in his career, however with the shocking run he’s been on in his last four outings.
I don’t believe he’s be able to handle 32-year-old Park and a dabble the South Korean to win via points seems to be the safe option here.
It’s a Featherweight clash between two prospect that may not have the fans respect just yet, but Steve Garcia and Seung Woo Choi are both coming off wins – and a victory here for either one will have them knocking on Hunter Campbell’s door for a shot at the top 15.
The form suggests Garcia, who’s won his last three via knockout and I’m not turning away from those numbers.
Garcia isn’t the most skilled fighter by any means, but I believe he’ll dominate and with ease this weekend.
