La Casona might have a slight class edge over her rivals after competing at Group 3 level earlier in the year.  

The Snitzel filly resumed in good order on the Lakeside track two weeks ago, making up late ground down the outside to finish second in testing conditions.  

She was seen doing her best work through the line and should take plenty of improvement away as she gets out to 1400m now.  

Back on a firmer surface, she just needs luck from the wide gate to go her way early on.  

Zwasp is an intriguing three-year-old making his fourth start for Shea Eden. 

The colt by Zoustar has placed in two of his three starts since debuting in December, returning from a lengthy spell earlier in the month to run second at Sale over a longer trip.  

He found excuses in the run home that day when held up down the straight, but is likely to appreciate another soft track with the low gate also working in his favour.  

Mighty ticks a few important boxes here ahead of her second run back.  

Peter Moody’s filly resumed in fantastic order a few weeks earlier over the same trip, flashing home strongly down the outside to go clear by a length.  

She ran a nice race at this stage of her prep last time in work, finishing a clear second to smart Godolphin filly, Austmarr.  

Whether she’s wanting further now is the question, but with Blake Shinn sticking in the saddle and barrier two in her favour, she should take beating. 

Gottabesavvy looks a nice value play in an open race to wrap up the day.  

The Savabeel four-year-old won here over the track and distance two back, stepping out 10 days later at Caulfield where he gave good chase to finish four lengths off over further.  

This slight step back in class helps and he’s drawn to receive every chance again from the soft gate.  

Hard fit with another rain-affected track to suit, he should be right in the mix.
