Ballarat: Race 2 (1:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 9 Ravenite

J: Liam Riordan (57kg) T: Lloyd Kennewell & Lucy Yeomans

Ravenite has the inside barrier to his advantage first-up.

The two-year-old by Hellbent debuted down the straight at Flemington back in January to just miss out on a place, and has since jumped out nicely at Cranbourne with a good gap between runs.

He’ll likely land somewhere off the pace under Liam Riordan in a race that presents plenty of chances.

Ballarat: Race 6 (3:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 4 Santastico

J: Brad Rawiller (59kg) T: Matthew Seyers

Santastico has drawn another handy gate hoping to improve on his track and distance win here a couple of weeks ago.

The son of Santos quickened smartly to storm the line and win with plenty left in hand that day, and considering his wins tend to come in bunches, there’s nothing to suggest he can’t take further improvement into this similar assignment.

Brad Rawiller takes over in the saddle, and with a superb record over 1200m, this boy looks hard to beat.

Ballarat: Race 7 (4:00pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 10 Daiya

J: Patrick Moloney (58kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Daiya is worth forgiving on her latest effort over the mile when beaten 5.6 lengths off a wide run into the turn.

Ciaron Maher’s mare was having just her second run back following a lengthy spell, seen resuming for third on the synthetic at Ballarat over shorter where she gave good chase in the run home.

This is a sharp rise in trip out to 2100m, but she did run well over a similar journey at Cranbourne last time in work.

Ballarat: Race 8 (4:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 8 Kensington Diva

J: Beau Mertens (59kg) T: T & C McEvoy

Kensington Diva made it look easy winning by half a length to claim her maiden on return over the track and distance earlier in May.

The McEvoy-trained daughter of Performer was competing off a lengthy spell and returns off a 10-week let-up looking to the same with Beau Mertens taking over in the saddle.

We saw her let down with an impressive turn of foot to score last time out, reeling in the leader over her final few strides. If she produces that same late speed, she’ll be just as hard to hold out.
