Daily Racing Tips – Thursday, July 25

Rampazetto is carrying top weight but does look set to peak in his fourth race start.  

The colt by Written By has been around the mark since returning from a four-week break, just missing out on a place at Hawkesbury before a narrow runner-up effort at Muswellbrook two weeks ago.  

The heavy track was against him last time out, so these slightly firmer conditions under foot are a positive.  

After finishing off strongly over shorter, the rise to the mile should pose no problem.  

Open sprint race that could suit the hard fit Cool Lad in his return to Wyong. 

Matthew Smith’s gelding hasn’t won in close to a year, but he has been competing in slightly tougher contests at Kembla Grange and Warwick Farm recently, not beaten far on each occasion.  

His wet track form has been mixed but the inside gate should see him get forward early and look to run his usual race on speed.  

Gold Dust is having her second run back following a narrow effort for second at Hawkesbury a fortnight earlier. 

The three-year-old by Exceed and Excel came off second-best to the talented Nightingale over shorter, a solid return effort after making up good ground in the run home between a pair.  

She’s another one that will find softer conditions more suitable with her maiden win coming second-up last prep.  

Rico Suave is shooting for a double coming off a win over much further here last month.  

The gelding by Fastnet Rock was competing off a three-week gap between runs and was enormous in the finish, going on to score by a length under Mitch Bell.  

He’ll carry an extra kg for his troubles, but does appear suited back to the mile on another rain-soaked track.
