No. 5 Maxie Tap

J: Jake Molloy (58.5kg) T: Kerry Taplin

Maxie Tap returned to the winner’s stall over the track and distance a fortnight ago with a bursting run coming off the speed.

He’s gone up a nice price in a slightly tougher race but is likely to find conditions to suit with another wet track expected.

The gate is more in his favour on this occasion and he is open to improvement on less of a turnaround between starts.

Jake Molloy has a bit of a feel for the five-year-old and the pair could be storming over the top if they can get back early in transit.

No. 2 Storm Force Ten

J: Cody Collis (59.5kg) T: Stuart Kendrick

Storm Force Ten is nearing another win following a runner-up effort at Kilcoy last month.

The Fastnet Rock gelding has been given a three-week gap between runs after shifting out from the fence in the run home to just miss out in a diving finish.

This is the three-year-olds first look at Rocky, but he gets in well with the claim and is drawn to get a nice cart into the race from midfield.

Rockhampton: Race 7 (3:24pm)

Win

No. 4 I Am Takingthelot

J: Angela Jones (59kg) T: Tony Gollan

This is an easier assignment for I Am Takingthelot after racing in town over the last month.

Tony Gollan’s mare finished well off the mark on both occasions but was a dominant winner at Ipswich three runs back where she showed a nice turn of foot in the run home.

A truly wet track would likely test her, but Angela Jones has a decent record in the saddle and options from out wide.

Rockhampton: Race 8 (4:04pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 9 Honkytonk Diva

J: Justin P Stanley (54kg) T: Clinton Taylor

Honkytonk Diva should be carrying a hat-trick into this race.

Clinton Taylor’s mare went around as the favourite two weeks ago over slightly shorter, somehow finding herself wide into the bend where she made up a stack of ground to get up late for third.

Four wins here at Rocky make her the horse for the course in this race and she likely won’t know herself carrying 54kg around.
