UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs Imavov

UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs Imavov

KFC Yum! Center will host UFC Fight Night this weekend with Jarrod Cannonier and Nassourdine Imavov set to headline the fixture.

Co-Main Event action will see 15th-ranked Light heavyweight Dominick Reyes and unranked Dustin Jacoby face off with the winner joining the top 15.

The youngest UFC Fighter Raul Rosas jr. is back in the octagon this time against Ricky Turcios, which will be entertaining for many fight fans.

Jared Cannonier vs Nassourdine Imavov
Nassourdine Imavov to win via points

To wrap up the night in Louisville, we have Middleweight action between Jared Cannonier who’s taking on French sensation Nassourdine Imavov.

Cannonier is back for the first time in nearly a year after suffering a knee injury, which may play a part in this matchup.

For Cannonier to win this, he will need to show his KO power which will be tough since he’s not won a fight via knockout since Derek Brunson in 2022.

If he throws too much, too early, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Imavov take “Tha Killa Gorilla” down.

He’s yet to win by way of submission in the UFC, however, we know he has the ability given that Imavov has won four pro fights via submission in other promotions.

Nassourdine Imavov should win this bout, with the exception that he keeps it to a fair fight.

Given the controversy surrounding his last two bouts, the best value play for me is to back him winning by points.

Dominick Reyes vs Dustin Jacoby
Dominick Reyes to win via knockout

Light heavyweight action will see the tumbling Dominick Reyes and Dustin Jacoby square off for the coveted top 15 positions in the Light Heavyweight division.

A controversial and hotly debated decision in his loss to Jon Jones for the title has resulted in Humpty Dumpty having a big fall, losing three on the trot since that defeat.

Jacoby isn’t doing any better, dropping three of his last four bouts, this will be a matchup that may determine a new Light Heavyweight contender.

Both fighters are desperate for wins, and you’d assume the loser might never get another shot at the rankings.

Raul Rosas Jr. vs Ricky Turcios
Raul Rosas Jr. to win via Submission or Points

Raul Rosas and Ricky Turcios were meant to fight in February, however, Rosas Jr. was pretty ill, hence the fight being postponed.

A few months later here we are, Rosas vs Turcios, this will be a belter.

Rosas Jr. is still only 19 years old and is full of potential and can choose any way to clinch a victory.

This bout with Ricky Turcios will be a significant step up in competition for the Raul Rosas Jr, but I don’t see the youngest fighter in the UFC losing this one.
