Euro 2024 Tips – Group Stage, Match Day 3

Euro 2024 Tips – Group Stage, Match Day 3

CROATIA VS ITALY
Croatia $3.05

Croatia require a win against current champs Italy to ensure their progression through to the round of 16.

Alternatively, a draw will be enough to see Italy progress, while a loss will likely see them go through as one of the top four third-places sides.

Croatia have proven time and time again they can produce big performances when their backs are up against the wall.

I’m taking Modric to lift his side to a historic victory against an Italian team playing far below their best.

ALBANIA VS SPAIN
Spain and Over 3.5 Goals $3.60

Spain have firmed into $5.50 to lift the Euro 2024 Trophy following two dominant displays against Croatia and Italy.

They’ll now take on an Albanian outfit who need a win to keep their tournament alive.

With Albania force to push for a win, I can see the flood gates opening for Spain, who will be playing with a sense of freedom knowing their progression through to the round of 16 is sealed.

I’m taking Spain to win combined with over 3.5 total goals.

FRANCE VS POLAND
France and Over 2.5 Goals $1.80

Poland’s fate has already been decided before a whistle is blow here, with nothing but pride left to play for.

Alternatively, France requires win to secure first place in Group D ahead of both the Netherlands and Austria.

Both of Poland’s fixtures this tournament have seen over 2.5 goals scored, with both teams finding the back of the net.

I’m taking France to win in a high scoring affair.

NETHERLANDS VS AUSTRIA
Netherlands $2.20

A draw here will likely see both the Netherlands and Austria progress through to the round of 16, though the Dutch will be eyeing off a top place finish and an easier pathway through the knockout phase.

The Netherlands have won six straight meetings against Austria dating back to 2002, including a 2-0 victory in the Group stage of Euro 2020.

The Dutch have now won seven of their last nine internationals (1D,1L), and are real dark horses to take out this competition.

I’m taking the Netherlands to win outright here.

ENGLAND VS SLOVENIA
England to Win to Nil $1.96

Despite an underwhelming start to the tournament, England can secure top spot in Group C with a win over minnows Slovenia.

The Three Lions hare undefeated against Slovenia across six previous games (5W,1D), keeping a clean sheet in the two most recent matchups.

Although England’s offence is yet to click, they look sound at the back and I’m taking them to hold Slovenia to nil on the way to collecting 3 points.

DENMARK VS SERBIA
Denmark $2.15

The Group C action wraps up with Denmark vs Serbia.

This is a must win fixture for Serbia, who are sitting on one competition point, despite only conceding twice this tournament.

Meanwhile, a draw might be a enough for the Danes, who have played out two stalemates against Slovenia and England.

Denmark have been unlucky not to win their opening two fixtures, and will feel confident they can build on their perfect record against Serbia (3W).

UKRAINE VS BELGIUM
Belgium to Win & Lukaku to Score $2.54

We are set for a wild ending to the action in Group E, with all four sides currently sitting on three competition points, all vying for two, possibly three spots in the round of 16.

Ukraine has the worst goal difference of the four outfits, and will need a win here to guarantee their progression, while a draw should be enough to see Belgium through.

With Ukraine set to push hard for a win, I can see the likes of Lukaku benefiting at the other end of the park, capitalising on the counter attack.

I tipped Lukaku ($15) for the golden boot prior to the first game, and it has been a tortuous watch, with the big #9 finding the back of the net on three occasions, only to have all three strikes overturned by VAR.

I’m backing Belgium to win and Lukaku to break his duck.

SLOVAKIA VS ROMANIA
Draw $2.15

Both sides are sitting on three competition points, equal with both Belgium and Ukraine, but two goals ahead of the latter on goal difference.

This means that a draw will very likely see both sides progress through to the round of 16, regardless of what happens in the other Group E fixture.

When there’s a “mutually beneficial” draw in play at a major tournament, a stalemate more than likely transpires.

I’m taking the draw thanks.

(This pair has drawn their last three meetings)

GEORGIA VS PORTUGAL
Portugal (-1) $2.00

Portugal have all but sealed top spot in Group F ahead of their game three clash against minnows, Georgia.

For Georgia, it’s win or bust, after collecting one point from their opening two games.

Portugal have enough quality and depth to defeat Georgia with their development squad.

I’m taking Ronaldo an co to win this game by 2+ Goals.

CZECH REPUBLIC VS TURKEY
Turkey $2.70

A draw is enough to see Turkey progress though to the knock phase, while the Czech Republic’s will be going hell for leather for the win.

Czech Republic have looked unconvincing in their performance against Georgia (1-1), a game in which they really needed to win.

Turkey is the better side here, and they represent great value at $2.70.
