Sandown: Race 3 (1:35pm)

No. 3 Arizona Activist

Arizona Activist is a progressive three-year-old having his third run back for Team Hayes.

The son of Written Tycoon won well on return at Sale over much shorter to kick off his prep, stepping out off a three-week break on the Hillside track last month where he made up ground to finish fourth after blowing the start.

We saw him handle 1400m quite well here at Sandown as a two-year-old last year when running a distant third to Legacies on a wet day.

No. 8 Derozario

Derozario gets back out to the 2000m trip after showing real fight to prevail in her final few strides over a similar journey at Cranbourne two runs back to shed the maiden tag.

Her effort on the Hillside track back to 1800m last month was solid, finding the front out of the turn where she just found one better in the go for the line.

Drawn a nice low gate and rock-hard fit now, she should be in the mix providing she handles the dry track.

Sandown: Race 6 (3:20)

No. 3 She’s A Con

It’s been over a year since She’s A Con last tasted a win, but her best is certainly good enough to threaten here second-up.

Grahame Begg’s mare finished midfield over much shorter fresh on the Hillside track a few weeks earlier, missing the start and suggesting she might be wanting further over her last couple of strides.

This is a sharp rise in trip from 1300m out to the mile, but with form over this distance to her name and experience racing at Group level last year, a place isn’t out of the question.

Sandown: Race 7 (3:55pm)

No. 7 Riproar

Riproar is going much better than his recent effort at Headquarters suggests.

The son of Charm Spirit was caught three-wide facing the breeze on a wet day, fading in the finish where he was beaten close to four lengths from a tricky gate.

Damian Lane jumps back on board with plenty of success in the saddle, and the pair should be able to land somewhere close to midfield.

Fitter now four runs back and on a firmer track, I think he can make amends.
