Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday, June 11

Writtle looks a clear on top selection based on recent form. 

The Written Tycoon six-year-old has been racing in superb form since resuming back in April, stringing together a pair of wins before charging the line late at Ipswich a fortnight go over shorter.  

Justin Huxtable was the man in the saddle when the pair won by a clear margin two back at Gatton, and with a firmer track expected on this occasion, they should prove just as hard to hold out.  

Stormtrooper should find conditions to suit after tackling a Soft 7 at Ipswich a fortnight ago on a quick nine-day backup.  

The experienced seven-year-old got the job done only narrowly thanks to forward running tactics at Warwick three runs back over a similar distance under Jace Murray.  

With luck from the wide gate and the claim put to good use, he should be tricky to run down again up on the speed.  

Hearsay was always too far back to score at Warwick a few weeks ago over 1200m.  

The Star Witness mare settled toward the tail before making up late ground, finishing within two lengths of Scud, who has since gone to race okay at Doomben up in grade.  

She’s another one that require luck from out wide, but fitter now for two runs back and likely to find the rise in distance suitable, this looks a nice race for her at good odds.  

Smiling Zac returned to the winner’s stall a few weeks ago with an impressive turn of foot to score over the same track and distance.  

Mark Currie’s gelding will have to carry an extra 4.5kg for his trouble but is unlikely to find this race much tougher in terms of class.  

With room for improvement on less of a turnaround this time, he should be finishing off strongly if he gets back early from out wide and saves something for the finish.
