Pakenham: Race 2 (1:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 4 Aquillion Girl

J: Jason Maskiell (57.5kg) T: Craig Anderson

Open maiden race with almost half the field presenting a serious case.

Aquillion Girl has made two starts on the synthetic during her brief nine-start career, charging into the finish here last start to finish a distant runner-up behind impressive debutant Milo.

Craig Anderson’s filly was seen doing her best work late through the line and now tackles this assignment on a quick seven-day backup.

With two placings from her last two starts, a similar effort would see her in the mix.

Pakenham: Race 5 (3:00pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Tiffany Valentine

J: Thomas Stockdale (56kg) T: Phillip Stokes

Tiffany Valentine is the class runner in this field with a start at Group 3 level to her name.

The Sepoy mare was luckless two back in the Proud Miss at Morphettville from a sticky gate, but she did show real improvement when giving chase at Sandown a few weeks ago where she held up badly at the top of the straight.

Finally drawn a soft gate with a win on the synthetic to her name, she rates the one they all have to beat.

Pakenham: Race 7 (4:00pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 6 Under The Rock

J: Patrick Moloney (59kg) T: P Reeves

Happy to have something each-way on Under The Rock third-up out to the mile.

This five-year-old by Unencumbered has raced well without placing in both runs back this prep, giving good chase over 1400m at Bendigo last time around where he probably deserved to finish closer after finding excuses in the run home.

He’s won at this stage of his prep before and just needs luck from the wide gate to add to his winning record on the synthetic.

If Patrick Moloney can get across early and land midfield, the pair should be hard to hold out carrying 59kg.

Pakenham: Race 8 (4:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 11 New York Scandal

J: Jamie Mott (57kg) T: N J Harnett

New York Scandal has drawn a handy inside gate coming off a tougher assignment at Caulfield three weeks ago.

The daughter of Manhattan Rain has shown plenty of late speed in her last two starts, placing at Moe two runs back before stepping up sharply to 1400m in his fourth run back from a spell.

Rock-hard fit now and back to a more winnable class of race, she should be fast into stride and take serious catching up on the speed.
