No. 10 Sharon Drive

Sharon Drive debuts for the powerful Chris Waller and James McDonald combination.

The daughter of Zousain has looked good in two lead up trials where she handled a heavy track well in her first piece of work.

I was quite taken by her most recent trial where she turned in a typical Waller runner trial by settling at the back and working home stylishly.

The outside barrier isn’t ideal, but ‘J Mac’ could ride a rocking horse to victory at the moment and the opposition don’t look particularly strong.

No. 3 Accredited

J: Rory Hutchings (58.5kg) T: Joseph Pride

Accredited returned in good order last start over 1100m at Warwick Farm.

The Joe Pride-trained gelding settled handy and fought gamely but was overpowered by Fleetwood to finish 1.4 lengths third. Fleetwood franked the form on Saturday when winning strongly at Randwick.

He’ll strip fitter second-up and the rise in distance will suit given he won over the trip two starts ago.

Rory Hutchings can give his mount a lovely run from barrier 2.

No. 7 Mogo Magic

J: Tim Clark (57kg) T: Scott Collings

Mogo Magic has started his career in fine style with five wins from seven starts and looked good when resuming this preparation last start over 1000m at Randwick.

The four-year-old gelding drew wide and was forced to work in the run, so did well to box on to finish 1.4 lengths fourth.

He’ll have taken benefit from the run and has won two from two when second-up.

Noted front running jockey Tim Clark takes the ride and should be able to dictate the race.

Canterbury: Race 8 4:20pm AEST

No. 7 Frankly Elegant

J: Adam Hyeronimus (57.5kg) T: G Waterhouse & A Bott

Frankly Elegant arrives here in good form and is looking for her third win in a row.

The Waterhouse & Bott-trained daughter of Frankel was brave two starts ago on a heavy Kensington track when forced to work outside the lead and was passed in the straight, but fought back to win narrowly.

Last start she led them a merry dance over this course and distance to win by a head. The margin flattered the opposition more so than it being a close race.

She looks the likely leader and should be able to give plenty of cheek with Adam Hyeronimus in the irons.
