No. 8 Chassagne
Chassagne was one of the runs of the race last-start on the Sunshine Coast third-up from a spell.
Annabel Neasham’s mare was taken a long way back under Damien Thornton over 2200m and seen making up a stack of late ground to finish second to the in-form Amairac.
The daughter of Dundeel was an impressive winner the start prior at Gatton, caught wide heading into the final turn where she eventually knuckled down to score with plenty in hand.
Hard fit, in well at the weights again and just needing early luck from the gate, she should be just as tough to hold out.
Ipswich: Race 4 (1:28pm)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 9 Rockribbed
Rockribbed returns from an eight-week let-up looking to pick up where he left off earlier in the autumn.
Tony Gollan’s six-year-old ran third at Eagle Farm last start, leading into the straight where he was only grabbed over his final few strides by the fast-finishing Millane.
His recent trial win at Deagon was superb and he should prove just as tough to catch up on the speed under Vlad Duric.
Ipswich: Race 7 (3:17pm)
No. 12 Nikau Spur
Happy to have something each-way on Nikau Spur in this year’s Ipswich Cup.
The old boy by Proisir is going on close to a year since he last won a race, but his recent efforts have been good this prep, notably running third to the in-form Gringotts two back in a Stakes race at Doomben.
He was afforded excuses again from wide out back to BM90 level two weeks ago at Eagle Farm where he appeared to be wanting further finishing midfield in the end.
Has won over this trip previously and does need luck from the gate, but with form around some impressive horses this prep, he should measure up with next to no weight on his back.
Ipswich: Race 8 (3:53pm)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 7 Wategos
Wategos looks the one to beat in this year’s Eye Liner.
The five-year-old son of Capitalist was a smart winner two back at Doomben, charging the line off a four-wide position out of the turn to go on and win by over two lengths.
He lost no admirers running second to Yellow Brick in the Listed Chief Spear Handicap at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and does appear suited dropping back slightly in trip.
