Sri Lanka and South Africa tonight promises to be a healthy battle with two highly ranked sides expected to light up New York with their abilities to create unforgettable moments.
The Proteas are back in the world cup fold with their magnificent batting lineup, including Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, and David Miller who can all dominate any bowling attack on their day.
Their bowling cartel, which showstoppers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje lead, is equally as incredible due to their capability of generating pace and movement, no matter the conditions of the ball or the pitch.
This matchup will be an intriguing back-and-forth battle with Sri Lanka’s spin attack having the potential to dwindle the South African middle order.
At the same time, the Proteas’ pace lineup can pose a significant threat to the top order of Sri Lanka.
With both teams including explosive batsmen and quality bowlers alike, this match is nearly certainly a high-scoring affair, with a close run chase expected to lead to the last over.
High levels of cricket is predicted to be shown today and South Africa should get the chocolates pending their motivation and dedication in this game.
My suggested plays are below.
- South Africa to Win
- Aiden Markram to score 20+ Runs
- Kagiso Rabada to take 1 Wicket
Match five of 55 will see Afghanistan take on Uganda which is a must win for the Afghanis as a loss could come back to haunt them in the latter half of the tournament.
Afghanistan, with spinning sensations Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman leading them into battle, should dominate on all accounts with what has shown to be a spin-friendly pitch throughout their practice matches.
So what does Uganda need to do to claim the upset of the tournament?
Well, they need to be able to play spin first and we could be looking at up to five spinners in one lineup.
Afghanistan have been fairly decent form beating the likes of Scotland in their T20 World Cup warm-up and dominating Ireland in their most recent T20 Series.
Strength, grit and patience is key throughout this tournament and I believe Afghanistan will show enough to get the job done.
My suggested plays are below.
- Afghanistan to win
- Rashid Khan 2+ Wickets
- Mujeeb Ur Rahman 1+ Wicket
