No. 2 Scissor Me Timbers

J: Dylan Gibbons (59kg) T: Mitchell Beer

The Mitch Beer-trained Scissor Me Timbers presents hard fit now for two runs back.

The three-year-old son of Scissor Kick ran on strongly down the outside part of the track at Warwick Farm earlier in the month, finding the line nicely for third in very trying conditions.

Stepping out over 1300m again is an interesting choice, but back on a firmer track with Dylan Gibbons retaining the ride, any improvement would see him go close.

Hawkesbury: Race 5 (2:25pm)

No. 3 New Forest

J: Tommy Berry (59kg) T: Sara Ryan

New Forest is an honest three-year-old more than capable of grabbing his second win on the trot.

The son of Justify was all class in the finish two weeks ago on a heavy track at Kembla Grange, settling just off the speed before angling into the clear to go on and win by 1.8 lengths.

The form from his run three back behind the smart Unique Ambition reads well, and with a stack of fitness now on his side, he should find this a winnable assignment getting back from the mile.

No. 8 Das Kapital

J: Tommy Berry (57.5kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Das Kapital sticks to the 1300m trip after resuming off a five-week break to run a place here Thursday.

Ciaron Maher’s decision to race on the quick backup warrants respect and this does set up as another winnable assignment from a similar gate.

How he handles the soft conditions is the main query, but with the added class of Tommy Berry in the saddle, we should see improvement from this three-year-old.

Hawkesbury: Race 7 (3:40pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 9 Be Real

J: Tyler Schiller (55.5kg) T: Brad Widdup

Be Real gets out to 1800m for the first time after running a place last week over the mile at Warwick Farm.

Tyler Schiller drew a tough task from a wide gate, getting back near last where he had little luck in running at the top of the straight.

The gate is against the pair once again, but if they can settle handy to the speed this time with conditions to suit, there’s every chance they’ll be fighting out the finish.
