Zerkhan almost picks himself here second-up from a spell.  

John Thompson’s colt broke through to shed the maiden tag at Hawkesbury a fortnight ago, indicating over his final few strides that’d be well-suited out to the mile second-up.  

The son of Real Steel handled this trip quite well at Hawkesbury last November and just needs to find luck in running from barrier 9 to go on with the job.  

Baranof comes back a level after finishing 10 lengths off at Randwick two weeks ago over a similar journey.  

The son of Hinchinbrook was unsuited by the heavy track that day, a disappointing effort after running on late for second at Wyong the start prior behind a smart type.  

Rock-hard fit for four runs back and drawn to get the gun run along the rail, this looks a nice race for him to atone.  

Drums Of War is a decent each-way shout that should find conditions much more suitable compared to his first-up assignment on the Sunshine Coast.  

The lightly-raced three-year-old was never fancied on a Heavy 8 when beaten over six lengths, but his form last time in work suggests he’s capable of making amends.  

This is his first look at 1100m, but with a serious turn of foot to his name and Ashley Morgan proven in the saddle, he just needs to handle the extra weight to be a big chance.  

Bit of a dart board, but Luna Rocks does look an each-way shout coming off two likable performances at Albury and Wagga leading in.  

The Hellbent mare appreciated the cut in the track when running on late for second in a small field last time out where she was carrying big weight.  

Hard-fit now and proven at this stage of her prep, she could prove tough to hold out if she can save something for late from the soft draw.
