Rezone is looking to build on a strong runner-up performance on debut late last month.  

This lightly-raced three-year-old by Dundeel gave a nice sight in the run home, charging late to run a clear second off a wide run in transit over a slightly shorter trip.  

Jordan Childs will need to find cover early from the wide gate, but this does look a winnable assignment with improvement sure to come.  

As the price suggests, The Jester’s Son looks tough to beat coming off a comfortable maiden win at Ballarat two weeks ago.  

The Hayes-trained son of Pierro defeated the previously mentioned Rezone by two lengths, storming home late after blowing the start where he showed a real turn of foot following a four-week break.  

Open to natural improvement with less of a gap between runs now, he should be afforded a well-timed cart into the race if he jumps on time under Daniel Stackhouse.  

Sioux Spirit made it look easy when winning by over a length on debut at Geelong last month.  

Jerome Hunter’s filly was given a 10/10 ride under Craig Williams, stoking up from midfield to hit the front at the 100m mark and draw clear.  

She’s proven on soft conditions now and gets in with just 1.5kg extra. Willo retains the ride and the pair look tough to beat from a similar gate.  

Korobeiniki looks a genuine each-way chance getting back over her preffered trip.  

The daughter of Press Statement was caught wide and only seen hitting top gear over the final 100m at Sale a fortnight ago, beaten 2.7 lengths by a smart horse in the end.  

This honest five-year-old won well over the 1400m journey at Pakenham three runs back off a spell and has handled wet tracks well in the past. With Ben Allen proven in the saddle, she should be given every chance.
