Lunarshot needs luck from the wide gate but does have some likeable form heading into her second-up assignment.

Ciaron Maher’s filly was beaten just over three lengths by the impressive Here The Crowd last start on the Heath track at Caulfield, form that has held up well with four coming out and winning since.

How she handles some sting out of the track is the big query, but with improvement to come in her third race start, she’s more than capable of measuring up in this maiden.

Fiasco Tess gets in well with the big claim put to good use under Luke Bourke.

The Sebring mare is going on close to a year since she last visited the winner’s stall, but she did show improvement off a four-week gap when finding the line late for fourth over the mile here last month.

Back in grade and trip, alongside some decent wet track form, she should prove difficult to run down up on the speed.

Alpinova resumes for Michael Huglin hoping to build on an impressive trial win at Moe a couple of weeks ago. 

The mare by Alpine Eagle has mixed her form first-up but does own a handy win over the 1000m trip at Pakenham last November.

Drawn a low gate with Daniel Stackhouse riding well of late, she should be given every chance if she finds clear air coming off the speed.

Reprisal appeared in need of the run when beaten over eight lengths first-up at Pakenham over the same 1200m journey.

Danny O’Brien’s three-year-old by Trapeze Artist never found top gear in the run home, but is worth sticking with after holding his own at Saturday grade during the spring last year.

The soft conditions are right up his alley with Jamie Mott already proven in the saddle. Providing he handles the extra 3kg, he should give a good sight.
