Cranbourne: Race 2 (5:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Illuminance

J: Jamie Mott (58kg) T: Julius Sandhu

Illuminance is close to a win for trainer Julius Sandhu.

The filly by Headwater has found the money in her last two starts here on her home track, facing the breeze last time out over the same trip where she made up good ground in the run home.

Jamie Mott has a good feel for her and just needs to find cover early to go close once again.

Cranbourne: Race 4 (6:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 10 Holly’s Star

J: Jason Maskiell (57.5kg) T: Emma-Lee & David Browne

Holly’s Star has drawn a handy gate ahead of her fourth career start.

Jason Maskiell steered this girl to a place over slightly shorter a couple of weeks ago, leading for most of the way and just lacking a late kick once the pace quickened out of the turn.

The daughter of Group 1 winner Tosen Stardom was attempting a sharp rise in trip that day off a three-week gap between runs, so this does shape as a more winnable assignment if she can roll forward early.

Cranbourne: Race 6 (7:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Jaykayann

J: Billy Egan (60.5kg) T: Patrick Payne

Jaykayann was beaten only 2.6 lengths by the smart Hard To Cross on return at Sandown two weeks ago.

Patrick Payne’s mare is likely looking to get out over further as her campaign progresses, but with a win over this trip previously, there’s nothing to suggest she can’t take this out with the right run coming off the speed.

The wide gate does complicate things slightly for Billy Egan, but with experience in the saddle and some late speed under the hood of this girl, the pair should be fighting out the finish with even luck.

Cranbourne: Race 7 (8:15pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 4 Picky

J: Ben Allen (58kg) T: Leon & Troy Corstens

Picky gave the McEvoy-trained Heart Of Glass a real scare two weeks ago at Sandown when racing within a quarter of a length of the smart filly over the same trip.

The daughter of Cable Bay comes back to race at country level now and has drawn to get the gun run up along the inside under Ben Allen.

Some relief at the weights will go a long way as she looks to improve on three solid efforts this time in work.
