The Meadows: Race 3 (7:28pm)
No. 1 Goliath

Goliath is back in the driver’s seat operating from Box 1.

The speedy son of Black Magic Opal won his maiden in just his second start from an identical draw two runs back here at The Meadows in a slick time of 30.19 seconds.

He was far from disgraced last week from a wider alley and appears to have most of his rivals covered on early speed again.

The Meadows: Race 5 (8:08pm)
No. 5 Geani Bale

Geani Bale’s wins are spaced, but it’s hard to ignore the effort she produced last week when going 3.7 lengths clear over the track and trip in a mixed event.

The experienced two-year-old has won twice now over the 525m trip here at The Meadows, her best coming in a tidy time of 30.25 seconds – the quickest in the field.

Likely to pile on the pressure mid-race, there’s nothing to say she can’t go on with the job.

The Meadows: Race 7 (8:50pm)
No. 3 Lamia Fawn

Open race, but certainly one Lamia Fawn can win after having her chances at a hat-trick denied last week.

The daughter of Superior Panama was beaten over six lengths out to 525m, a harsh step up in trip after winning well over shorter a week earlier.

She’ll run fitter for that attempt and was also a staggering 6.5 length winner from Box 3 at Mt Gambier three runs back.

The Meadows: Race 10 (9:50pm)
No. 4 Fergus Zulu

Big watch on the Jason Thompson-trained Fergus Zulu out to 600m.

This son of Orson Allen made every post a winner last week at Bendigo over 500m, landing on the bunny where he pulled away to score by five lengths.

He’ll need some luck in early running this time from Box 4, but if he finds the front and saves his best for late again, this could turn into an easy watch.
