Sandown: Race 5 (8:27pm)
No. 3 Ethanol Volume

Ethanol Volume has tremendous late speed, as we saw last week when he went within half a length of Shake It Off over the track and trip.

The experienced two-year-old has found the money in back-to-back starts now and should have no problem settling toward the tail from Box 3.

His time last-start of 34.10 seconds was solid and this looks the right race for him to go one better.

Sandown: Race 6 (8:50pm)
No. 7 Pass Mark

Pass Mark has turned in some handy efforts here at Sandown, missing the money for the first time in 10 starts last week when beaten 5.7 lengths over the same trip.

The son of Fernando Bale appeared in need of the run out over further, but he’s no stranger to winning over this track and distance with his best coming in a nice time of 41.90 seconds.

Proven from Box 7 and likely to race just off the speed, he rates one of the key chances.

Sandown: Race 8 (9:30pm)
No. 1 Valpolicella

Valpolicella is a class stayer well-deserving of another Group 1.

Her lead up to this event has been faultless, winning last week’s heat by a length after carving a clear path from Box 4.

The inside chute is right in her favour, her record over this trip speaks for itself, and she’ll simply prove too tough to hold out.

Sandown: Race 10 (10:14pm)
No. 4 Bye Georgie

Bye Georgie looks one of the better bets on the program following last week’s impressive 2.8 length win back to the 595m trip.

Whether she’s wanting further again remains to  be seen, but she does warrant enormous respect after winning that race in a slick time of 34.20 seconds.

Likely to be afforded plenty of running room with a vacant box next door, it’s tough to knock her with late speed and solid recent form on her resume.
