UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Curtis Preview

UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Curtis Preview

We’re over a week away from the UFC 300, but first, we stop at UFC Apex in Las Vegas for UFC Fight Night Allen vs Curtis 2.

Brendan Allen is currently on a six-fight win streak and the sixth ranked middleweight would like to keep this momentum going if he’s looking to make it into the top five anytime soon.

Alexander Hernandez will feature in the Co-Main Event of the evening and the Great Ape will be out to rebound after his loss to Bill Algeo in October 2023 derailed his momentum.

Frenchman Morgan Charriere wants to continue his immaculate start to his UFC career after a first-round knockout victory in September 2023.

There’s a good amount to unpack for this Weekend’s UFC Fight Night and my thoughts are down below.

Brendan Allen vs Chris Curtis
Brendan Allen by Submission or Points

Even though Brendan Allen is on a six-fight win streak, his last outing with Chris Curtis was different to what fight fans are used to.

Curtis’ clinical boxing performance and takedown defence outclassed, outwitted and outplayed Brendan Allen at every level.

But will Chris Curtis make it 2-0 against Allen?

Allen has shown dominance in his MMA career, winning five by way of knockout and 14 by way of submission.

He’s ready to redeem himself this weekend against Curtis and make it one apiece!

Alexander Hernandez vs Damon Jackson
Alexander Hernandez via KO/TKO

The first time I saw Alexander Hernandez was in 2019 when he got his ass handed to him against “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone.

He jumped out of the gate with pure aggression but the experience of Ceronne proved too much for “The Great Ape”.

Hernandez will now feature in the co-main event against Damon Jackson who’s lost two on the trot.

Yes, Alex Hernandez’s MMA record isn’t pretty by any means, but if the 31-year-old wants another shot at the top 15 and with Jackson in his sights, a floor-cleaning performance is imminent for the BJJ black belt.

Morgan Charriere vs Chepe Mariscal
Morgan Charriere via KO/TKO

Two fresh faces in the UFC will collide as Morgan Charriere is looking to build on the momentum built following a first-round KO against Manolo Zecchini, while Chepe Mariscal is hoping to make it a three-fight win streak.

Charriere is currently on a four-fight win streak, including three knockouts on the trot!

This will no doubt be one of the best fights on the card this weekend, but I think that “The Last Pirate” Morgan Charriere will show the world who he is on Sunday in the UFC Apex.
