This Sunday, the UFC will present their 301st pay-per-view in Brazil!
Aussie Flyweight Steve Erceg will headline this underrated card against hometown hero Alexandre Pantoja in a bout that will be nothing short of spectacular.
Jose Aldo is coming out of retirement and we will be treated to seeing the UFC Hall Of Famer in the Co-Main Event of the evening.
Veteran Anthony Smith will have a tricky task on his hands against the unbeaten Vitor Petrino.
You can find my thoughts and plays on UFC 301 in the link below.
For the first time since Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno at UFC 256, we have the UFC Flyweight title headlining the main event of a UFC pay-per-view as Alexandre Pantoja will defend his title against Aussie Steve Erceg.
The Brazilian flyweight has shown the world he’s a man who can make you tap or simply control the fight and go the distance.
Aussie workhorse Steve Erceg has been on a tear, rising through the UFC rankings at a rapid rate to challenge for his first world title.
However, this is a big ask for Erceg, facing Pantoja for a world title, not to mention doing this in enemy territory.
However, I’ll be throwing my support behind the Aussie Steve Erceg!
Erceg has not only won his last 11 fights, he’s also finished seven of his last 10 opponents.
LET’S GO ERCEG!!!
Jose Aldo has been coaxed out of retirement to feature on the first pay-per-view in Brazil in over a year.
The UFC Hall Of Famer will have his friends and family behind him as the bookies in my personal opinion have got the market wrong on this one.
Jose is 36 years-old and will offer up the toughest test of the 29-year-old American’s career to date.
Jose Aldo has won three of his last four bouts via points and I’ll back him to make it four in five this weekend.
Anthony “Lionheart” Smith doesn’t have an easy task at hand this weekend as he squares off against the undefeated and dominant Brazilian Vitor Petrino.
The number 15 ranked Light Heavyweight, Petrino was last seen in March this year in a clinical and dominating performance against Western Sydney’s Tyson Pedro.
A one-sided affair is expected from the Brazilian and I think a play on him to win via KO/TKO or submission since Petrino has won 8 of his last 11 professional bouts via KO/TKO or Submission.
