Geelong: Race 5 (3:30pm AEDT)
No. 5 Demon Blood
Demon Blood deserves a win after finishing in the placings in three of his past four starts.
The five-year-old gelding raced three wide over 1000m at Bendigo last start and had the audacity to fight strongly for a neck second with third a further 4.5 lengths away.
While it was two years ago, he did win his only previous start over this course and distance.
From the inside barrier Jarrod Fry should be able to give him a lovely run on speed.
Geelong: Race 6 (4:00pm AEDT)
No. 1 Fullproof
Fullproof returns to the track for the first time after pulling up lame at Caulfield in December.
The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained son of Lonhro was in good form prior to that, winning at Moonee Valley second-up and finishing second by a nose first-up.
He has looked good in his recent jump outs and has run well fresh in the past.
Luke Currie can give him the run of the race from barrier 1.
Geelong: Race 7 (4:30pm AEDT)
No. 5 Etara
Etara returned in brilliant fashion two starts back at Colac when braining her rivals by a massive six lengths over 1200m.
The Symon Wilde-trained filly then gave a good account of herself last start in a stronger race over 1400m on the Hillside track.
She will appreciate the drop in class and strips fitter third-up.
Top jockey Damian Lane takes the ride and should give her every chance by settling in a prominent position.
Taree: Race 7 (5:30pm AEDT)
No. 4 Bob’s Last One
Bob’s Last One returned this preparation in fine style at Kempsey.
The Super One gelding made light work of the heavy conditions to lead the 1000m contest all the way for a 3.8 length win.
He’ll strip fitter second-up and the rain-affected track will be to his liking.
The 2kg claim is beneficial and he should enjoy a nice run just off what looks a strong speed.
