No. 2 Lady De Guise

J: Deanne Panya (58kg) T: R T Leemon

Lady De Guise has been the runner up at her past three outings and looks well placed to break through today. The Ron Leemon trained mare finished off strongly two runs back over 900m and last start, over 1000m off an eight week freshen up, she just found one better on the day but did put up a 2.6 length margin back to third.

She strips fitter and the rise to 1200m looks ideal.

Queanbeyan: Race 7 (5:05pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 9 Capicella

J: Jess Taylor (57.5kg) T: Lauri Parker

Capicella resumed with a very encouraging effort over 1100m at Wyong. The daughter of Capitalist was able to slot in midfield off the outside gate and kept working to the line strongly. She will have taken good benefit from the run and drop backs in grade.

Only lightly raced with the five career starts, she scored her maiden win here over this trip back in November and did it in style, saluting by 5.3 lengths. She gets back out to that distance and has drawn to get the gun run under Jess Taylor.

Mildura: Race 3 (2:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 4 Shake'n'bake

J: Will Gordon (59kg) T: Andrew Bobbin

Shake’n’bake has been placed in four of his six starts and looks nicely placed here at his second run back from a break. Resuming over 1300m at Avoca, the three year old worked home strongly to finish second and he’ll certainly appreciate getting out to 1400m here.

The winkers come off, the blinkers go on and with any luck from the wide draw, he should prove hard to beat.

Best of the day

Mildura: Race 5 (3:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Zambezi Khan

J: Billy Egan (61kg) T: Patrick Payne

Zambezi Khan strips fitter for the two runs back and looks ready to peak third up. She kicked off her preparation over 1400m on the Lakeside, where she got back off the wide gate and worked home nicely in restricted room.

Last time out to 1500m she again settled back from a wide draw and was doing her best work late. The rise to 1900m looks ideal for this daughter of Mongolian Khan and from the good gate she’s set to receive every chance under Billy Egan.
