2024 NRL Round 7 SGM Preview

2024 NRL Round 7 SGM Preview

Some people just don’t get Rugby League and if you had told me after six rounds of NRL the Sharks and Raiders would be in the Top 3, I would’ve accused you of being one of those exact people.

That’s how the first block of the season has played out however and as much as I disagree with it, the table does not lie and I have to get over it.

Round 7 is here this weekend and the countdown to both Magic Round and State of Origin is on.

There’s probably a few Origin jerseys up for grabs in the next few weeks and I’m very much looking forward to how it all plays out.

I’ve also put my moustache on the line in the Broncos game this week, I’m not stressing AT ALL.

I bet you haven’t even read this far, you’ve scrolled down for tips already, so I can say whatever I want here.

I don’t care for those Penrith blokes.

Here’s my multis for the weekend.

Also, listen to our poddy ya dogs.

SYDNEY ROOSTERS V MELBOURNE STORM
Check it out below

We’ve got ourselves a banger of a Thursday night game with the two titans of the 2010’s going at it to get our weekend started nice and early.

It’s bloody close in the betting markets. At time of writing the Chooks are ever so slightly the favourites $1.88 to $1.92 but I’m leaning Melbourne’s way in this one.

The Storm are as close to full strength as you can get during a footy season and the Roosters barely got over the line against Newy last week.

I don’t know if they have what it takes to hang and bang with the Storm.

Xavier Coates is $2.35 to get a meaty as well, not bad at all for the first bloke to have his name on the Maroons team list.

Keeping it simple to start us off, little two legger to wet the whistle.

Chooks v Melbs: $3.52

  • Melbourne Storm To Win @ $ 1.92
  • Xavier Coates Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.35
PARRAMATTA EELS v DOLPHINS

Friday night we’re off to Darwin, Parra’s second home almost for a game against the Phins.

The Eels are very short at $1.46 to the Phins $2.75 but I reckon I saw enough from the Dolphins last week against the Broncs to at least back them to keep it close.

Yes they got blown out in the end last week but I think the Phins will take a lot away from that and should keep this one tight against Parra, I like the Dolphs to cover the 7.5 point line.

Sadly there isn’t an over under for how many water bottles Brad Arthur will drink in the coaches box but I would be guessing the line would be set at about 7.5 too.

I’m backing Jamayne Isaako as an ATS in this one. His try last week was absolute filth and I like him to cross again here.

That’s a $3.13 multi so far and I think a flirt on the total points line is what is needed to give this SGM a bit of a boost.

45.5 looks a bit too big for my liking so I will be taking the unders.

Parra v Phins SGM $5.73

  • Dolphins +7.5 @ $1.90
  • Jamayne Isaako Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.10
  • Under 45.5 Points @ $1.90
BRISBANE BRONCOS v CANBERRA RAIDERS

Canberra got the chocolates last time they played at Suncorp but I cannot see that happening this time around.

The Broncs could be the greatest 10th placed team of all time and should hopefully jump up a few spots when they knock over the milk on Saturday night.

They’re $1.36 favourites and that is my pick for the podcast multi.

I’ve also had to put my mo on the line due to the rough run I’m on, safe to say I’m praying hard for the Broncs this weekend.

I’ll be combining that with Ezra Mam & Kotoni Staggs as try scorers which should get us a very nice price.

BRONCS v MILK SGM $6.94

  • Broncos Head to Head @ $1.36
  • Kotoni Staggs Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.50
  • Ezra Mam Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.60
CRONULLA SHARKS v NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

I don’t rate the Sharks.

There, I said it.

The Cowboys kind of fell off real hard last week but I think they should bounce back in a big way here.

Sharks are top of the table but I reckon they’re massive pretenders.

I’m not over thinking this one, Cows to win, Nanai ATS

Sharks v Cows SGM $5.30

  • Cowboys H2H @ $2.30
  • Jeremiah Nanai Anytime Tryscorer @ $3.20
