Premier League Game Week 28 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 28 Tips & Preview

Ten rounds remain in the 2023/24 Premier League season, with the title race is well and truly alive.

Gameweek 28 gets underway at Old Trafford, where Man U take aim at the Toffees.

Elsewhere, Villa look to consolidate their position in the top four with a win over Tottenham, while match of the week pits title contenders Liverpool and Man City against each other at Anfield.

Our Offside Oracle has previewed all 10 Premier League fixtures this weekend and provided his best bets below!

MAN UTD VS EVERTON
Man Utd and Over 1.5 Goals $2.20

Man United are attempting to avoid their third straight league defeat when they welcome the Toffees to Old Trafford.

After showing signs of life mid-way through the season, Everton have subsequently gone on a run of 10 games without a victory (5D,5L), with no other side in the league suffering a longer winless streak.

Man U claimed a 3-0 victory over the Toffees in the reverse fixture, and haven’t lost a home match to Everton since 2013.

I’m backing the Red Devils to return to winning ways, combined with over 1.5 total goals scored.

BOURNEMOUTH VS SHEFF UTD
Bournemouth and Over 2.5 Goals $1.83

The Cherries will be licking their lips at the prospect of hosting the Blades this weekend.

No side have scored fewer, or conceded more goals than Sheffield United, a fact exemplified by their 6-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out.

The Cherries claimed a 3-1 victory on the road to Sheffield in GW17, a result they’ll be confident on replicating at home.

I’m backing Bournemouth to get up combined with over 2.5 total goals.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS LUTON
SGM: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Total Goals $2.23

The Eagles host the Hatters in what should be an intriguing fixture.

Luton has lost their last four league fixtures, though they have managed to score in each game.

Meanwhile, the Crystal Palace have only bettered Burnley across their last five league fixtures (1D,3L), with over 2.5 goals scored in four of those games.

I’m backing both teams to score combined with the overs.

WOLVES VS FULHAM
SGM: Wolves or Draw & Both Teams to Score $2.41

The Wolves host the Cottagers in a contest between two form sides.

Wolverhampton have won four of their last six games across all comps (2L), and have never tasted defeat at home to Fulham!

Meanwhile, Fulham has lost once across their last six games (3W,2D), but have only triumphed twice on the road this season (4D,7L).

I’m backing Wolves to keep their unbeaten home run against Fulham alive, combined with both teams finding the back of the net.

ARSENAL VS BRENTFORD
Arsenal (-1) & Havertz 1+ SoT $2.09

The Gunners are enjoying a spell of red-hot form, winning seven straight league fixtures at an aggregate of 31-3!

This unbelievable run has taken their goal difference to +45, six clear of Liverpool and 10 better than City.

Alternatively, Brentford have won once over the same trip (1D,5L).

I am riding this Gunners wave, backing them to win by 2+ goals combined with a shot on target from in-form Kai Havertz.

ASTON VILLA VS TOTTENHAM
Both Teams to Score & Over 3.5 Goals $2.00

Aston Villa and Tottenham are set to go toe-to-toe in the battle for fourth.

Villa currently occupies the coveted top four position, sitting five points above Spurs in fifth.

Unai Emery’s team won 2-1 on the road the last time this pair met, though it was the severely undermanned Spurs side who generated more scoring opportunities.

I’m steering clear of the H2H market, instead, betting on the back of the net to get a workout.

WEST HAM VS BURNLEY
West Ham and Over 1.5 Goals $1.95

The Hammers are eyeing off three league wins on the bounce when they host Burnley in the Claret derby.

Winless in nine league fixtures (2D,7L), Burnley are pretty much resigned to the fact they’ll be kicking around in the Championship next season.

I won’t overcomplicate this one, I have the Irons completing the double over Burnley, combined with over 1.5 total goals.

BRIGHTON VS NOTTM FOREST
Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals $1.91

Brighton and Forest take the field in what is sure to be a high-scoring affair.

The Seagulls have failed to keep a clean sheet across their last eight games in all comps (3W,1D,4L), with an average of 3.75 goals scored across the trip.

Meanwhile, Forest have kept one clean sheet across the same trip (2W,1D,5L).

‘Both Teams to Score & Over 3.5 Goals’ has hit in the previous two meetings between this pair.

I’m backing a similar result here.

LIVERPOOL VS MAN CITY
Man City to Win & Both Team to Score $3.50

Liverpool hosts City in not only the match of the round, and quite possibly the most crucial fixture of the year.

As things stand, Liverpool lead the league on 63 competition points, with Man City nipping at their heels one point back.

The Reds have performed with their backs against the wall, competing and winning without a few of their key players this calendar year, with both Mo Salah and TAA among the fallen.

Manchester City are a completely different prospect though, Pep’s side are unbeaten in 19 games across all comps (17W,2D), and look formidable with the now healthy pairing of Haaland and KDB.

Both teams have scored in nine of the last ten meetings between these two modern day giants.

You can only win so many fixtures off the back of strong “character”, I think this is the beginning of the end of Klopp’s fairytale Premier League finish.

City to Win.

CHELSEA VS NEWCASTLE
Newcastle $3.70

Game Week 28 wraps up in the capital, as Chelsea plays host to Newcastle.

The Toon dumped the Blues 4-1 at St. James Park earlier this season, but have failed to win at the Bridge since 2012.

Despite being on the road, I think this fixture will play into Newcastles hands, with Gordon and Isak doing damage on the counter.

I’m backing Chelsea to continue their struggles this season, dropping all three points at home.

BOURNEMOUTH VS LUTON
