No. 9 Saxon Beauty

J: Harry Coffey (56.5kg) T: M & L Kavanagh

Saxon Beauty has gone up a nice price for a filly that took on Group 3 level to wrap up her spring prep at Caulfield last year.

The Kavanagh-trained three-year-old was six lengths off Autumn Angel in the Ethereal Stakes, form that reads well with that filly coming out and winning a Group 2 earlier in the month.

The lack of a trial explains the price, but if she gets luck from the wide gate and land just off the speed early, she could figure.

No. 5 Two Questions

J: John Allen (59kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Two Questions looked suited out over 2700m now after winning his maiden in fine style two back at Bendigo.

He wasn’t far off at Sandown earlier in the month, giving good chase off a three-wide sit down the outside.

The son of Tavistock has been up for a while, but with his runs spaced and fitness on his side, he should be one of the toughest to beat.

Stawell: Race 7 (3:35pm AEDT)

No. 10 Claim The Crown

J: Alana Kelly (54kg) T: Annabel Neasham

Claim The Crown is a talented stayer for Annabel Neasham that was Group 3 placed earlier in his career.

The Irish import was second at Flemington only two runs back over this trip behind Aramco, while third-place-getter Strawberry Rock has since gone on to win at The Valley.

He’s drawn a nice gate with next to no weight on his back and is likely to improve on his latest effort for third in the Yarra Valley Cup.

Stawell: Race 8 (4:10pm AEDT)

No. 2 Run Like Hell

J: Jordyn Weatherley (59.5kg) T: Maddie Raymond

Run Like Hell is in search of her hat-trick after narrowly getting the job done on the Parks track at Morphettville last time out.

She likely found the step back to 1000m a little on the short side that day, especially after winning so well first-up over slightly further.

The daughter of Hellbent looks to have taken the next step for Maddie Raymond and is likely to get a tidy ride in transit from the soft gate.

If she lands off the speed under the apprentice claim, she’ll be very difficult to hold out.
