No. 2 Warlords
Warlords was brave at Sandown a month ago, plugging away up on the speed where he found an extra gear to win over 1400m.
The soft gate is in his favour here ahead of his second run back and he’ll likely prove just as hard to run down with a forward showing expected.
This is tougher up in class with extra weight, but if they go fast early he should find the tempo to suit.
The Valley: Race 2 (5:15pm AEDT)
No. 8 Cattrall
Cattrall shed the maiden tag nicely at Sale three weeks ago when finding the centre of the track off a well-timed ride from midfield.
She let down well in her first run back with a solid turn of foot, a performance she should build on over further now Mark Zahra operating from a perfect draw.
The Freedman-trained filly has some nice form around the likes of Legacies and Autumn Angel when she debuted last year, and I think she’ll be very tough to hold out in the late stages.
The Valley: Race 4 (6:15pm AEDT)
No. 2 Philosopher
Philosopher is suited to these short-distance sprints, as we’ve found out recently with two wins from his last three starts over a similar trip.
The Zoustar gelding went forward early to lead a couple of weeks ago, finding something extra to race clear and win by a length under Celine Gaudray.
The pair combine again here with the claim put to good use and I can’t find any reason why they won’t go on with the job from a low draw.
The Valley: Race 8 (8:15pm AEDT)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 7 Johnny Rocker
Johnny Rocker is worth sticking with after a disappointing second-up run at Caulfield early last month.
Nick Ryan’s four-year-old entire was last to greet the judge and found to be lame post-race, a slight let down on his previous runner-up effort fresh at Flemington behind Mornington Glory.
Off a good break between runs though, he should be fit and firing now as he looks to take full advantage of the inside gate.
