Sandown: Race 3 (1:36pm AEDT)
No. 5 Aston Massimo

I’m willing to give Aston Massimo another chance despite finishing 10 lengths off over this track and distance last week.

The son of Tommy Shelby was attempting 515m for the first time from an identical box, so I think he might run a much-improved race with fitness on his side now.

His previous win over shorter at Warragul was impressive, and with an empty box next door this time, he should bounce back.

Sandown: Race 5 (2:23pm AEDT)
No. 3 Hold Me Closer

Hold Me Closer gets back out to 595m now after finishing the beaten favourite last time out at The Meadows.

She looked as though she was looking for further on the day and does draw a nice box to make amends.

If she can land midfield and save something for late, she’ll take beating.

Sandown: Race 7 (3:01pm AEDT)
No. 4 Ethanol Unleaded

Ethanol Unleaded has options from the middle box.

His win two back over shorter at Geelong was super impressive, and he wasn’t far off out to 525m last week beaten two lengths.

He’s winless from three starts from Box 4, but does look one of the more dangerous runners coming off the speed.

Sandown: Race 12 (4:27pm AEDT)
No. 5 Aminah

Aminah gets another look at Sandown coming off a runner-up effort last week over the same trip.

She’s only lightly-raced, but the daughter of Barcia Bale has shown real potential winning well at Bendigo and Mt Gambier so far.

In a race that doesn’t hold a lot of speed, she should be prominent early.
