He had it much easier at Doomben a couple of weeks ago where he showed real improvement to win following a disappointing effort the start prior.
Suited over the trip, he’ll be tough to beat providing the track isn’t too wet.

He’s drawn poorly, but this does look a nice race for Defiant Boom if he can get back early.

I thought he still held on well for third in the end, a race he should derive plenty of improvement from getting out over a more suitable trip in which he’s won over before.
The gate is a slight issue, but with enough early speed to offset and maybe settle closer to midfield this time, I think he’ll be right in the mix.
