Round 3 of the NRL gets underway this weekend and my god there are a couple belters this weekend.
Penrith v Broncs, Chookies v Souths… and the rest.
We had a truck load of success last week, 3 out of 4 of our multis saluted. Look what happens when you play it conservatively.
I’ve put together a same game multi for each day of rugby league this weekend so let’s dive on in hey?
Also, listen to our poddy ya dogs.
This game is giving me massive headaches for a few different reasons.
Firstly because the ‘Riff broke my heart in the granny last year and secondly because the Broncos have some massive outs this week.
I’ve been tossing and turning about whether they have the depth to at least cover the line here.
Adam Reynolds is out and that is what it is but the news breaking that Payne Haas wouldn’t play saw the Broncos H2H price jump up from $3.40 to $3.90.
That’s also meant that the line for this game is out to 10.5.
I reckon there’s 16 fanbases that are having no troubles at all tipping this game but I am certainly in the minority here.
I will be staying away from a result bet here and taking a try scorer from each side.
In my eyes, there’s no two better picks than Sunia Turuva at $2.40 for Penrith and Deine Mariner at $2.80 for Brisbane.
There’s five tries between them in two rounds of footy and I’m hoping they can both salute for me here.
Penrith v Broncs: $6.61
- Sunia Turuva Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.40
- Deine Mariner Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.80
The oldest rivalry in Rugby League is back for another instalment on Friday night and I have my fingers, toes and nuts crossed that this is the matchup that Souffs need to kick themselves into gear this season.
The Chookies couldn’t get it done last week against Manly but are $1.62 here at Allianz.
Inexperienced halves are the theme of this game with Sandon Smith and Dean Hawkins both slotting into playmaker roles for either side. The more I look at these team list, the more I think the Roosters will get this done.
Dom Young scored a meaty in his Roosters debut, he’s too bloody good to leave out of my multi this week.
I’m leaning towards a play on the unders too, often these two clubs are too focussed on bashing eachother to run plays properly.
Last season both these games finished with 38 points scored exactly too.
Spooky.
Chooks v Souffs SGM $5.52
- Roosters H2H @ $1.62
- Dom Young Anytime Try Scorer @ $2.02
- Under 39.5 Points @ $1.90
Not sure why we have to suffer through a Tigers game on prime time but here we are. Benji’s boys will be hosting the Sharks.
Let’s make this worthwhile, the lines at 12.5 which means Cronulla 13+ is the same price. I’ll be locking in one of those. Dealer’s choice.
Ronaldo Mulitalo has scored both games so far this season, Katoa crossed the line last week. I’m going to include both of them as try scorers. That get’s us to a multi of $4.24.
Adding Nicho Hynes in there blows us out to $13.73. It’s very tempting but I don’t feel comfortable “tipping” a $13 multi.
Let’s stick with the two tryscorers, go Nicho as well if you’re feeling frisky.
Tiges v Sharkies SGM $4.24
- Sharks -12.5 @ $1.90
- Ronaldo Mulitalo Anytime Try Scorer @ $1.65
- Sione Katoa Anytime Try Scorer @ $1.87
Am I just a one eyed Maroons fan or are the bookies not giving the Storm enough credit here?
$2.05 against the winless Knights who are $1.78 favourites. They’re kidding themselves aren’t they?
No Jahrome Hughes this week sure but how many times have we criticised the Storm’s “lack of depth” and the next face of the league has come seemingly out of nowhere.
Storm H2H for me here, let’s lock that in first and foremost.
The Knights have given up a try to second rowers in both of their games this year, do we dare take Ellie Katoa on top of a Storm upset? That puts us up to $8.06.
Honestly, that’s fruity enough. That is all the legs I need.
Newy v Storm SGM $8.06
- Storm H2H @ $2.05
- Eliesa Katoa Anytime Tryscorer @ $5.20
