Kensington: Race 1 (1:20pm AEDT)
No. 7 Mistress
Mistress gets her first look at the Kenso track hard fit now for four runs back.
John O’Shea’s four-year-old was competing off a five-week break at Canterbury a fortnight ago, racing a little keen in the early stages but still holding her own to finish just over two lengths off.
She should be better for the run with less of a gap between starts on this occasion, and providing Tommy Berry can make full use of the soft gate, I think she’ll be very hard to hold out over the final 200m.
Kensington: Race 3 (2:30pm AEDT)

No. 2 Centrestone
The Chris Waller-trained Centrestone had plenty go wrong here a fortnight ago over further, laying in at the top of the straight before contacting another runner over the final stages.
She still held on well for third I thought, a much-improved effort on her previous run at Rosehill where she was last to greet the judge.
Getting back to 1400m should be ideal for the Hinchinbrook mare if she handles the extra weight in the saddle. Getting back on top of the ground can also be seen as a plus.
Kensington: Race 5 (3:40pm AEDT)

No. 3 Naval Seal
Naval Seal has drawn the perfect barrier to roll forward and dictate this race on his own terms.
The son of Snitzel hasn’t done much wrong this time in work, responding nicely to a forgive run at Flemington two back with a runner-up performance here over the same track/distance a fortnight ago.
It’s been a long time since Chris Waller’s five-year-old has won a race, but with no real early speed on paper, he should be able to burn along up front under Tommy Berry and take catching.
Kensington: Race 7 (4:50pm AEDT)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 4 Spaltet
Spaltet has gone up a nice price ahead of his second run back for Bjorn Baker.
The six-year-old by Savabeel was far from disgraced on return at Warwick Farm on Australia Day, struggling to find a lane at the top of the straight where he was also held up badly approaching the final furlong.
He’s drawn another awkward gate under Jason Collett, but does have a likeable record to his name over 1400m.
With even luck, he should be flashing home late in a race featuring a handful of chances.
