Hello my friends we meet again,
It’s been a while – where should we begin?
Feels like foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr
The NRL season is officially back this weekend with a couple of games in Vegas and I am so stoked to have footy back.
There has been a rugby league shaped hole in my soul since about the 65th minute of the Grand Final last year and while I haven’t fully recovered I am fully ready for the 2024 season to kick off!
I’m a very lucky boy, the all seeing, all mighty, all powerful Ned himself has given me my own weekly NRL preview this year where I shall be putting together a couple of same game multis each week just for you punters!
If these SGMs inspire you and feel like following them you’ve got a couple ways of doing so – simply clicking through to the Neds website and building them yourself will get the job done.
Or if you’re a big bloody lazy bones like myself, you can check out the NRL Open Group on the Neds App where I will be throwing these or even better yet, give my profile on the Neds App a follow that way you don’t miss a single bet I throw on the NRL Season.
Actually you might want to give a couple a miss, if I was tipping at 100%. I probably wouldn’t need a job now would I?
Also, listen to our poddy ya dogs
Enough yapping, let’s get into these Vegas games hey?
I don’t know man, I’m not convinced that Manly are actually any good this year.
Sure they’ve got a few hot boys in key positions but can you honestly look at the forward pack they’ve named for this Vegas game and say you’re confident they can stand up to what the Bunnies are going to throw at them?
Bunnies -1.5 looks too good to be true. I reckon they could really run up the score here but it’s a multi so we need to be a little conservative.
Alex Johnston, the try scoring machine is $1.78 to get a meaty in the first game of the year.
That is quite possibly the longest odds you’ll ever get him for ATS this year, he’s going in.
One last Bunnies try scorer for me, Latrell looks juicy at $2.70 but do you know who stands out like dogs balls to me in the ATS market?
Casino Cody.
Cody Walker had the 3rd most tries by a half last year and do you honestly think in a game in Vegas, first game of the year, all eyes on him that he’s not going to show & go and have a crack at the line himself?
I reckon he runs straight through like a Luke Brooks or Burbo for a meaty of his own on the biggest stage of them all.
He’s $3.15 ATS and that looks v nice to me.
Manly v Souths SGM $7.10
- Rabbits -1.5 @ $1.90
- Alex Johnston Anytime Try Scorer @ $1.78
- Cody Walker Anytime Try Scorer @ $3.15
If you haven’t listened to the Neds NRL Podcast or seen me yapping in Open Groups fair warning.
I am a Broncos fan.
I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for the Chookies, I don’t know what it is but if I had to back a Sydney team, I’d probably pick them.
The Roosters have always had an all star roster we’ve all seen the jokes about their salary sombrero but they cannot stay on the field together.
We’ve already started to see injuries hit this side, Dom Young obviously didn’t travel to the States with the crew after his neck injury.
In my completley unbiased and neutral opinion. I think the Broncs towel up this Roosters team.
They were 15 minutes away from putting the Panthers to bed last year and I think they will come out in this game with a point to prove.
Broncs -3.5 looks a good line to me and there isn’t a player in the Broncos backline or halves that I wouldn’t be comfortable taking for an anytime tryscorer.
Walsh, Arthars, Staggs, Cobbo, Mariner, Mam or Adam Reynolds.
Put those names in a hat and draw two out and I can’t imagine you’d be upset if you backed them.
For me though I’m backing Jesse Arthars at $2.60 and the big Cobb Loaf! Selwyn Cobbo ATS at $3.00 flat.
Chookies v Broncs SGM $9.25
- Broncos -3.5 @ $1.90
- Jesse Arthars ATS @ $2.60
- Selwyn Cobbo ATS @ $3.00
