Benalla: Race 5 (2:30pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 3 Pannier

J: Madison Lloyd (58kg) T: Henry Dwyer

Pannier has been racing well since resuming, cashing a cheque in two of his three starts at Geelong and Warrnambool.

Henry Dwyer’s four-year-old gets out to 2100m now for the first time, but he does look suited after running a place over slightly shorter at Seymour last time in work.

The lack of early speed should see him get back in the run, and if Madison Lloyd can save him for late, the pair should have plenty left to work with.

Benalla: Race 6 (3:00pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Yongtai

J: Luke Cartwright (60kg) T: David Brideoake & Matt Jenkins

Yongtai was an impressive winner of her maiden two back at Bendigo coming off a break.

The Sepoy mare missed the start but made up enormous ground in the finish, bolting through the line despite being held up badly at one point down the straight.

A slow start cost her over further at Cranbourne a fortnight ago, a run maybe worth forgiving considering she was coming off a four-week break.

Drawn a soft gate and in well with the claim, a much-improved effort could be on the cards.

Benalla: Race 7 (3:30pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 4 Sorry Sailor

J: Jamie Mott (61kg) T: M & L Kavanagh

Sorry Sailor bumped into smart gelding Actaeon a few weeks ago at Hamilton, form that has stacked up nicely with the latter going on to win well at Sandown.

That was his first attempt over the mile, and there was a lot to like about the way he finished off carrying 61kgs.

The inside gate is more to his advantage on this occasion with Jamie Mott stepping into the irons.

Benalla: Race 8 (4:00pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 8 Innocent Moves

J: Ethan Brown (59kg) T: Nick Ryan

Innocent Moves drops right back in distance after tackling 1300m to begin the month at Stawell.

Nick Ryan’s mare is still in seach of her second career win, but she has been super honest during her 14-start career, missing the money on just four occasions.

The wide gate does leave Ethan Brown with a job to do, but kept fresh and likely to race off the speed, she should be every chance.
