No. 3 Stardom Awaayts

Stardom Awaayts flashed home late to score narrowly over this track and trip two runs back, before handing in a decent effort on New Year’s Eve last week where he was held up badly in the run.

The lightly-raced four-year-old was competing off a month break that day, so he should be open to more natural improvement with less of a gap between starts.

Declan Bates has a good feel for the horse, and if they can make use of the low gate, they should be right in this.

Warrnambool: Race 6 (3:25pm)

Win

No. 1 Bold Bourbon

Bold Bourbon comes back sharply in grade after racing in town first-up at Caulfield.

The Lindsey Smith-trained gelding appeared in need of the run, but he did give good chase down the outside where he was seen doing his best work late.

The rise in trip suits, and with a solid second-up record on his resume, he should make short work of this small field.

Warrnambool: Race 7 (3:55pm)

Win

No. 4 Moral Force

Moral Force really caught the eye when resuming a winner last week off a two-year spell.

Now under the care of the Lindsey Smith team, this lightly-raced six-year-old exploded with a big run down the outside to get up in his final few strides, an encouraging performance after a bit went wrong at the barriers.

Fred Kersley operates on the quick backup, and if he can save him for late again, there’s no reason the pair can’t go on with the job.

Warrnambool: Race 8 (4:25pm)

No. 11 Loved Up Lawyer

Loved Up Lawyer had a wide gate to contend with when resuming at Bendigo a few weeks ago.

The daughter of Menari still gave good chase to finish runner-up, and she’ll likely receive a much kinder time of it in transit on this occasion from a soft gate.

Dean Yendall has been riding well of late, and with only three starts to her name, there’s improvement yet to come.
