Daily Big Bash Tips – Finals Special

Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat (7:15 pm)
Suggested Bets Below

For the seventh time in franchise history, the Sydney Sixers are back in the big dance however, it’s the first time they’ve come up against the Brisbane Heat and this is a match you don’t want to miss.

For Sydney to earn the privilege to host the BBL Finals, they first had to beat the Heat which they were one of two teams who did just that.

Brisbane won the honours by demolishing Adelaide the other night and boy, did they smoke them all right.

Who’s leaving the Big Dance with the crown?

My thoughts on the Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat along with my plays are down below.

To figure out who will take out the BBL13 title, we first need to ask ourselves, what’s the motivation for either side to win the coveted BBL trophy?

For the home side, this will be the final first-class game for the veteran and original member of the Sydney Sixers, Steve O’Keefe and they want to make sure this does not turn out like Brett Lee’s retirement game.

The Brisbane Heat have other forms of drive and motivation, after losing an unlosable game against the Scorchers.

However, at 7:15 pm, that all goes out of the window and as the saying goes, “you’re only as good as your last game”.

Josh Brown played completely out of his shell the other night and if he can score half the number of runs, he did against the Strikers, Brisbane will be in prime real estate.

Brown is currently the top run scorer for Brisbane this season and with an average of 29.2 against the Sixers in his five games against them, the Heat will need to turn to their saviour with the hopes of taking the chocolates.

What Brown does with the bat, is what Spencer Johnson does with the ball and geez can that bloke bowl?

Although Johnson isn’t the top wicket-taker for Brisbane, he’s been starring with the ball over the last five games – taking 10 wickets in his last five games.

Spencer Johnson might be competing with the ball for Brisbane, but Steve O’Keefe will be representing the three-time champions in the battle for the seventh time in his career.

O’Keefe has taken 13 wickets in his last 13 matchups with the Heat. however, he tends to strike when the Sixers need him and I’m looking forward to watching him bowl for the final time.

One player who’s been with SOK throughout his entire BBL career is Moises Henriques.

The Sixers’ Captain has an average of 25.14 in 18 games against Brisbane and with a high score of 64, he will need to produce one of those innings for Sydney to have any chance of winning tonight.

Brisbane will need to pull out all the stops for tonight’s matchup and my plays are below.
