AFC ASIAN CUP GAME WEEK 3 TIPS

AFC ASIAN CUP GAME WEEK 3 TIPS

QATAR VS CHINA
Qatar $2.10

Qatar has already qualified through to the Round of 16 with two comfortable wins over Lebanon and Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, China drew both of their fixtures against the same opponents and require a win to guarantee their progression here.

With just one goal in their last five internationals, a win looks extremely unlikely for China.

Qatar will be keen to clean sweep their group in front of a sold-out home crowd.

TAJIKISTAN VS LEBANON
Tajikistan $2.30

Nothing less than a win will see either Tajikistan or Lebanon leap frog China into second place in Group A.

A victory looks unlikely for Lebanon, who have managed just one win across their last eight starts (3D,4L) and have failed to score in their previous three.

Alternatively, Tajikistan have only lost once across the same trip (5W,2D) and will fancy themselves here.

I’m backing Tajikistan to sneak through to the Round of 16 with a win in their final group fixture.

AUSTRALIA VS UZBEKISTAN
Draw $3.00

Group B leaders Australia take to the field against next best Uzbekistan with a draw enough to see both sides progress.

The Socceroos are vying for their seventh straight victory, though they have looked less than convincing in their opening two group outings.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan are enjoying their own streak, going nine games without defeat (3D,6W).

Both sides are yet to concede this tournament and I’m not expecting that to change here.

A point will be enough for both sides and that’s how I think this one will play out.

SYRIA VS INDIA
Under 2.5 Total Goals $2.00

Syria takes on India in what is shaping up as a do or die fixture for both sides.

A win for either side will likely see them progress through to the round of 16 as on of the top four third-placed sides.

The only problem is, neither team has bothered the scorekeeper in their opening two fixtures.

These two nations have faced off on five occasions, four of which have seen under 2.5 goals scored in regulation time.

I’m backing both forward lines to fail once again.

HONG KONG VS PALESTINE
Palestine and Under 3.5 Goals $2.38

With four straight losses and just one win across their last eight game (1D,6L), it’s hard to imagine Hong Kong turning things around against Palestine.

Palestine has been the more defensively proficient of the two outfits and I have them claiming the win in a low-scoring fixture.

IRAN VS UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Iran and Under 3.5 Goals $2.00

Iran looks to build on their incredible run of 15 games without defeat, 13 of which were wins.

They’ll face a UAE who have won eight of their last 10 games (1D,1L), though only one of those victories have come across their last three starts.

Iran are unbeaten in 15 games against the UAE dating back to 1984 (12W,3D), keeping an incredible 14 clean sheets across the trip!

I’m backing Iran’s dominance in this fixture to continue.

IRAQ VS VIETNAM
Iraq $1.73

Iraq is out to go a perfect three from three in Group D when they meet the winless Vietnam (2L).

Iraq is undefeated against Vietnam in five meetings, winning four of those fixtures, three without conceding.

I’m not looking to overcomplicate this one, taking Iraq straight up.

JAPAN VS INDONESIA
Japan (-3) $2.30

Pre-tournment favourites Japan are at risk of falling to third in Group D should they lose to Indonesia here.

Prior to their surprise defeat to Iraq, Japan had won 11 straight games, scoring four goals in 10 of those fixtures!

I’m backing the Blue Samurai to bounce back in a big way here, winning this fixture by at least four goals.

JORDAN VS BAHRAIN
Jordan $2.20

Jordan are a chance to secure top spot in Group E with a win over Bahrain.

Bahrain kept their campaign alive with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Group E bottom feeders Malaysia last time out following a 3-1 humbling in South Korea in GW1.

Meanwhile, Jordan saw off Malaysia 4-0, before narrowly missing out on a victory over South Korea, conceding their lead late and ultimately settling for a 2-2 draw.

I’m backing Jordan to claim their third straight win over Bahrain.

SOUTH KOREA VS MALAYSIA
South Korea (-2) & Son Anytime Goalscorer

South Korea Houdini’d their way out of defeat against Jordan last time out and will be looking to reestablish themselves as top dogs in Group E.

They’ll take on whipping boys Malaysia, who are starring down the barrel of three straight defeats without scoring.

With no value to be had in the H2H market, I’m looking to dabble in a Same Game Multi here.

Backing South Korea to win by 3+, combined with a goal from Hreung-Min Son.

KYRGYZSTAN VS OMAN
Oman/Oman $2.80

Kyrgyzstan and Oman take to the field in a bid to claim their first victory of the tournament.

Kyrgyzstan will be without two of their first choice starters, after being dealt two red cards in their defeat to Saudi Arabia.

Unlike Kyrgyzstan, Oman has managed to secure a point this tournament, toughing out a 0-0 draw to Thailand, after going down 2-1 to the Saudis in their opening fixture.

Kyrgyzstan have conceded before the half hour mark in both of their fixtures.

I’m backing Oman to progress here, leading Kyrgyzstan at the end of both halves.

SAUDI ARABIA VS THAILAND
Saudi Arabia to Nil $2.00

The Group stage wraps up on Thursday night, when Saudi Arabia takes aim at Thailand.

Saudi Arabia has won six of their last seven games (1D), conceding just one goal across the trip!

The Saudi’s are looking to claim their fourth straight win against Thailand and their fifth straight clean sheet.

I’m backing Saudi to hold out their opponents on the way to topping Group F.
