No. 2 Who Goes There

J: Cobi Vitler (64kg) T: Mark Mason

Who Goes There makes his eagerly awaited return to the races at Scone today.

The Exosphere gelding stamped himself as one to watch with a dominant win on debut here back in April, and he franked that effort with another comfortable victory in BM58 company.

He’s had the benefit of a couple of trials leading up to today’s return and this looks an ideal campaign launchpad.

No. 2 Are You Joking

J: Aaron Bullock (58kg) T: Paul Messara & Leah Gavranich

Are You Joking broke his maiden at Muswellbrook last time out, and I thought he looked well placed to continue his rise through the grades today at Scone.

The Shalaa gelding raced greenly at his first two career starts but was still credible through the line, and he was rewarded for his improving condition with an easy win at his latest.

He’ll take further improvement into this contest, and it does look the next logical step for him to take.

Scone: Race 5 (3:20pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 3 Fameux

J: Clayton Gallagher (60kg) T: Annabel Neasham

Fameux faces a rise in class today at Scone, but he simply could not have been more impressive at his first start back from a break, and he can go on with the job.

The Exceed And Excel gelding showed some promise during his debut prep without breaking his maiden, but he resumed for a dominant six-length romp out at Bathurst.

With natural improvement for that effort, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

Scone: Race 7 (4:40pm AEDT)

No. 3 Ferro Vero

J: Aaron Bullock (58.5kg) T: Paul Messara & Leah Gavranich

Ferro Vero returned to action to break his maiden here at Scone last month and looks well placed to make it two in a row today.

The Real Steel gelding only just missed in two of three starts during his debut prep, but managed to get the monkey of his back over 1000m here first-up this time.

He’s another that is open to wholesale improvement today, and he has drawn ideally under Aaron Bullock.
