Daily Dogs – Maitland Gold Cup Night Edition

Maitland: Race 5 (8:38pm AEDT)
No. 2 Rinsed The Lot

He has only made one appearance at the races so far, but Rinsed The Lot couldn’t have been more impressive on that occasion, and he can win again tonight at Maitland.

The son of Barcia Bale was credibly away from Box 1 here last week, flashing to the lead and mustering a lightning turn of foot to win by more than five lengths.

I’m only expecting improvement for that experience, while another inside draw will almost certainly suit.

Maitland: Race 7 (9:19pm AEDT)
No. 2 Rampani

This is a great edition of the Maitland Gold Cup Final with plenty of winning chances engaged, and I thought that Rampani looked a bit of value at current odds ($7 at publish).

Rampani has won six of his last eight starts, including two dominant efforts in succession leading into tonight’s feature race.

He’s so far undefeated from Box 2, and he maps to go forward and make all of his own luck up on the speed again.

Maitland: Race 8 (9:38pm AEDT)
No. 2 Rivello

I thought that this looked a great opportunity for Rivello to bounce back into winning form.

The daughter of Fernando Bale was checked out of each of her last two starts, but her form earlier this prep was very good, and included consecutive wins over 520m at Wentworth Park.

Her best form is certainly good enough to see her into the finish of something like this, while her Box 2 record is excellent.

Maitland: Race 10 (10:20pm AEDT)
Same Race Multi

I thought that All Lies Ahead looked tough to beat in Race 10 at Maitland tonight.

It has been a short while since All Lies Ahead won a race, but he has been racing in typically consistent form recently and was unlucky not to strike in Group 2 company back in October.

With even luck tonight, I don’t think he’ll be offered a better opportunity than this, so I am going to select him as the winner in a Same Race Multi and pump up my odds with Jet Boots Tommy running into the first three and Tony Pepperoni running into the first four.

Our Same Race Multi selections are:

  • 1 All Lies Ahead (Win)
  • 4 Jet Boots Tommy (Top 3)
  • 6 Tony Pepperoni (Top 4)
