Coffs Harbour: Race 6 (4:15pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 5 The Extreme Cat

J: Ashley Morgan (59kg) T: Nathan Doyle

The Extreme Cat will have his first start for the Doyle yard at Coffs Harbour today, and I’m confident that he can hit the ground running.

The Extreme Choice gelding made just three appearances for Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace during his three-year-old season, finishing second at each of his last two.

He returned a nice trial performance at Wyong a couple of weeks ago and this looks a nice launchpad.

Geelong: Race 7 (4:30pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 8 Regal Zeus

J: Daniel Stackhouse (58kg) T: John Mcardle

Regal Zeus has improved for two starts back from a break and is ready to win today at Geelong.

The son of Zoustar finished fourth, beaten two and a half lengths in BM64 company at his first run back, before only just missing in a similar race at Pakenham last time out.

Fitter third-up, he just needs some luck in running today to be right in the thick of it late.

Coffs Harbour: Race 7 (4:50pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 4 La Boqueria

J: Koby Jennings (58kg) T: Kris Lees

La Boqueria clearly needed her first run back this time to tune up, but she won her only other second-up run so far, and I think she’ll be right in the finish today.

The Brave Smash filly returned some bold performances last time in, recording a couple of easy wins in country company most notably, while she did finish off well at Kempsey at her first run back.

This is a pretty weak race, and La Boqueria can take advantage.

Geelong: Race 8 (5pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 9 Mahrez

J: Fred W Kersley (58kg) T: Lindsey Smith

Mahrez is another galloper that appears primed to strike today at Geelong today.

The Iffraaj gelding finished third, though well beaten in BM58 company at the ‘Bool in his first start back this time, and finished off well behind Awash at The Valley last time out.

Fitter third-up and dropping back to provincial company today, I think he’ll be tough to beat.
